Bonneton Bites By ZeldaNoVorsu -- Report

Zelda’s Diary — Trip Day 1

Today’s the day Peach and I finally headed off on our globetrotting adventure! We’re going to visit every kingdom that Mario did during his journey to rescue Peach from that awful Bowser’s plot to forcefully marry her. The nerve! It’s always inspired me with how calm she seems despite being under the constant threat of capture by that despicable Koopa King. It’s probably partly practice. It happens unfortunately a lot to her, whereas Calamity Ganon’s return loomed over my head for a good portion of my life so far, but now that he’s destroyed and sealed away, he won’t be a threat again during my lifetime.

Poor Link is a bit heartbroken that I left him behind. It’s nothing against him, of course, but it’s so long since I’ve gotten to spend some time with another woman, especially another princess. I’ll be thinking of my dear hero though, and soon enough, I will want to return to him. I know he understands. He has Mario to keep him company while I’m gone, and I’m sure they’ll get into all sorts of antics across Hyrule.

Our first stop on the trip was in the Cap Kingdom. It was a monochrome town called Bonneton which receives beautiful moonlight 24 hours a day. Peach described it as “romantic”, and I must agree. While there, Peach’s Bonneter companion, a strange specter with a silver tiara for a “head” and only pink eyes, found a companion for me. Her name is Cloaky, and she is a precious little thing. She’s a bit shy, partly because like myself once upon a time, she struggles with using her natural gifts. This helped us to connect right off the bat. I gave her a bit of encouragement, and after an unsuccessful attempt, she managed to merge with my hood. It’s her first “step” into a larger world.

Peach wanted to teach me something called “capturing” with our Bonneters. We didn’t get to that though because I found some native frogs, and I just had to try them. The taste was admittedly a little bland, but they were quite filling! Still waiting to see if they have any enhancing effects like the frogs back in Hyrule. I even convinced Peach to give one a try! After a lovely spot of tea on the Spectacle Bridge under the moonlight, we headed back to the Odyssey, the hat shaped airship we use to get from kingdom-to-kingdom and set sail for our next destination: Cascade Kingdom.

Zelda’s Research Journal - Trip Day 1 Entry 1

Today began my cross-world trip with Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom. We will be journeying between locales aboard the flying Bonneton airship known as the Odyssey. I’ve already done a bit of research on that vessel before, so I won’t go back into detail on it here. Our first destination was Bonneton in the Cap Kingdom. It’s a kingdom strangely lacking any sunlight and is always under the light of the Moon. I have a theory on that related to its inhabitants: the Bonneters.

The Bonneters are fascinating beings. They appear to be at least partially spectral, though they are corporeal enough that one can shake hands with them, which I discovered firsthand. Their “heads” all take after some form of human headwear with a pair of eyes on the front. The rest of their bodies are wispy with a pair of stubby arms. They possess a unique ability to merge with headwear at least, which I believe to be some sort of possession relating to their spiritual nature. Whether they are ghosts of the departed, spirits of destroyed headwear, or their own unique beings, I haven’t been able to deduce yet.

Their supernatural nature is why I believe Bonneton is always under the light of the Moon. The Cap Kingdom is perhaps a between realm of sorts, bridging the mortal and spirit realms together. More research on this is definitely required. The Moon itself is also of interest. The body is much closer in the sky than it is in Hyrule. This doesn’t make sense under the conventional laws of physics as we know. Our planet is spherical, so the moon should orbit in a pattern that keeps it at a mostly consistent distance from us at all times. I have a theory on this, however.

In the oldest history books in the castle library, our ancestors say that Goddess Hylia ripped away chunks of the earth and sent them into the sky in order to protect our forebearers from the demonic hordes of old. Although there are records of at least one of these sky “islands” returning to the surface, the rest may very well still reside in the skies far above Hyrule. Their presence along with the divine magic required to put them there originally—magic on a scale even I as the current wielder of the goddess’s power, struggle to imagine—may be causing a gravitational disturbance of supernatural origin that stretches the orbit of the moon around our planet, causing it to appear much closer outside of Hyrule where such objects and power do not exist. I do wonder if it might be possible to visit those sky islands though. To witness where my original ancestor and our people resided in a time long since out of mind would be enlightening.

One last note for Cap Kingdom. I discovered some frogs in the Top-Hat Tower. They were a bit bigger than those in Hyrule, green with white bellies and no other special markings. Their taste was rather bland and so far I’ve not noticed any sort of enhancing effect from them.

Behold, a new series that's a result of the collaboration between  derpsquid42 and I. Princesses Zelda and Peach are our two favorites, so we wanted to write a story of them doing something together. We came up with this idea: the pair travelling the world in the Odyssey and having regional meals in the kingdoms they stop in. I won't be saying much in the descriptions for these, if at all, and instead each description will feature Zelda's notes on her adventures that chapter. Enjoy!

But if you ask Zelda, tasty! She just wants her friends to have new experiences. What better time than while on vacation?

I do have plans for her to come back. She is a fun protagonist to work with since she can do the vore.
