Born in 1075 in the city state of Salzburg of the Holy Roman Empire, Paris grew up in a relatively poor family in the outskirts of the city. Even so his parents managed to score him a decent education throughout his childhood years, investing much of their savings into him. This slowly became more and more difficult as many teachers in his older years were certain he was a girl. However, a quick check in his pants proved he was a boy, much to his trauma. He became enthralled with the Catholic faith and a firm believer of the pope, believing in him far more than the emperor.
Upon reaching his late teenage years the young man went on the prowl for a wife to call his own. However, with his preference for longer hair, his feminine voice and body shape lead to many women turning him down, thinking he was a fellow woman or fearing that other would think him as one. The same happened vice versa with men hitting on him. Needless to say, he was down on his luck. In order to try and increase his standing he volunteered for service in the military, in hopes of gaining wealth to affirm a comfortable standing in life.
In 1095 in his early twenties, he was given a great shock as the Pop declared a Crusade against the Seljuk Turkic Empire to reclaim the holy city of Jerusalem. A massive wave of enthusiasm for war swept across Europe and marched as one army to fight the Seljuks, his father being one of the enthusiastic peasants to go fight the Turks... they were all annihilated at the Battle of Civetot, his father being among the dead. Shocked and full of rage, Paris took part in the Prince's Crusade the following Year and marched with them. Ready for his glorious Adventure.
But war is no adventure.
The sobering reality of what he got himself into came when he engaged in the Battle of Dorylaeum. Forced to fight for his life against mounted archers the battle came as a very costly victory for the crusaders. Most of the friends he made along the way on the march towards Anatolia were slain. But they had to keep marching on. That day he promised never to get close to anyone during the war again. This proved to be invaluable as during their march south towards Jerusalem, starvation, disease and dehydration slaughtered a good portion of the Army. Paris himself got sick twice, barely surviving the second. Finally in 1099 the reached their destination and laid siege to the city. Thinking it was nearly over he wasn't ready for what came next. When the defenders broke, he partook in what could only be described as a massacre. Something broke within him that day, his hands were so deeply stained in blood he questioned if he could ever be forgiven. He became isolated from the others, barely partaking in anything the other thrilled Crusaders did. After a failed Counterattack from the Seljuks later that year he returned home to Salzburg in 1100.
His mother barely recognized him. Often lost in his own inner thoughts and horrors he did the bare minimum to get by. Hardly working, hardly eating, mostly sleeping. However, one day he met someone. A young farmhand brunette girl named Molly. She noticed his broken state and gradually tried to get his attention in trying to cheer him up. While it wasn't clear at first it was slowly working. He began to gradually open up to her, talking to her about interests, his father and likes. He stayed away about his time in war, maybe one day he'll open up to her about it. But now with the two of them together, Paris maybe ok.

In the Investiture Controversy he would unconditionally support the pope. This was a rather dangerous stance on where he lived saying the city he was in was pro emperor, plus it was next to Austria. He mostly kept to himself about it as to not draw unwanted attention.
As for Vampires. They are an abomination and against God's design. So he'd definitely swallow one up if he could.

An OC of mine! Born and raised in a different part of the HRE, a few decades before Paris himself. She got turned into a vampire, and her descendants basically kept her continued existence a secret for many generations. After a plague wiped out her clan, though, she fucked off to the Mongols.
On top of being a vampire, she is also very passionate in her views about the Investiture Controversy. Needless to say, she's not a big fan of the Pope.
