Paula (the deer) was digested over the long winter in Kuumar's belly. As in she stayed in there for months before the stomach killed her. Bear's metabolism slows down to a crawl when they go into a deep sleep.
That encounter happened in 2020 winter. And the current chapters of Violets comic is taking place in 2021 Summer. (Orca, Elephant, onwards). So Kuumar the bear has already reemerged from his den.
Violet was in the stomach while the bear started hibernating. So she got to enjoy the omnivore's stomach for that bit of time that his stomach wouldn't want to try and work through her.
Violet would have met the same fate as Paula had Indigo not bartered her out of the stomach.
