Not sure what this is? Here's a post explaining the series!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712411
____________
Splitting up with Miram for the day to tackle different jobs seemed to be the most popular idea, so that's what I went with! I also had us finally put on our bracers again, which have just been sitting in our bag for a while. We're with Kip now, but things aren't necessarily going smoothly...

What should we do about the two unexpected newcomers? Hide, engage? Some combination of both? Something else?

You can find Adrea’s character sheet here!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712418

Remember, you can ask any questions about the world (that are relevant to the current chapter) if you think you want/need more information about something! I'll do a 'live' intelligence check before answering if it's something Adrea might know.

Ah shit, I'm going to assume that they beefed up sercurity and hired some professionals guards, or adventurers at least. Regardless of what happening, we need to basically get to the spot before those two does. Let ask Kip if she know a faster path to the place, and if that path is hidden from watchful eyes. Of course, stealth is a benefit but we do need to move fast.

I'm inclined to agree with Persona here. We should try to get some distance from them while remaining hidden, and try to get to the galeweed cluster as quick as we can while avoiding them. If we do end up being forced into a confrontation, we should do our best to talk our way out of it and only fight as a last resort.

I think Adrea should remain hidden, and not say anything at all as not to risk these two wanderers hearing her. Make eye contact with Kip, scan her expression and see if you can read her next course of action from body language. Educated guess here; since Sirna sent Kip with us it is a safe bet that it was as an enforcer to dispatch Adrea if we failed this little trust test. As such, Kip's combat prowess probably shouldn't be underestimated. I honestly think we should even try to silently indicate that we'd be willing to fight, maybe by brandishing your staff, then gesturing toward the two. From here I think we should follow Kip's lead.

If she decides to stay hidden, that's good. Quietly wait for the two to pass, and then ask Kip about the next course of action when its safe.
However if Kip decides to attack, I believe the best course of action is to follow up and help her. Send an icebolt at the one Kip doesn't go for. It'd be two versus two, Adrea and Kip have an immense stealth advantage on top of the fact that our new foes don't even expect to see anybody up here to begin with, they aren't even on guard. 'Their backs are even turned!'

Remember that we're here to free ourselves from suspicion and working together with Kip in a life or death situation would give us a shining review.

As far as who our two guests might be, and if we could potentially talk to them, considering Adrea and Kip are wholly NOT supposed to be here, and judging by the small snipet of conversation we've heard, they've been hired to patrol this prohibited area. Meaning they're almost certaintly going to attack us on sight. If they aren't supposed to be here 'either', they're also likely to attack us on sight. Either way, we can ask them who they are after a premptive strike.

If we avoid them, our chances of bumping into them again are quite high if they're patroling, and in that scenario, we lose the precious element of surpise. It's a little unsporty to attack someone with their back turned, but I think in this case it increases our chances of both surviving 'and' our chances of getting Sirna off our back far more than the passive route. Of course, this all hinges on if we can silently convince Kip to fight. As far as Adrea starting the fight herself, I'm certain Adrea initiating without Kip going in first would make her trust us even less and make her angry to boot.

Perhaps, but then why would Kip be the one who 'collects' the herbs in the first place? I imagine that that while an enforcer can do more than just enforce things, I can't imagine having an enforcer doing the job that lackeys or rouges normally do. Also, she is injuried, or at least suffering from a old wound(her broken wing).

Either way, our goal is to collect the herbs, though I would suggest that being able to escape might take higher priority here. Better to come back with nothing but information, than to died up there. Might hurt our standing with Sirna, but Kip might be able to back us up.

Wait a moment, could we ask Kip if she recognizes the two people? I know it's a shot in the dark, but I'm assuming that the mage guild doesn't just hire anyone. It has to be either someone they trust, or a harpy(given the bitch working the front desk)

I figured the broken wing is an old wound, since she's covered in scars, I made the assumption that she'd survived her fair share of scraps. In any case, if she isn't much of a fighter, I doubt she'll initiate. Since we're only going to follow up if she goes first, we'll avoid the fight if she does. Since Kip is aware Adrea is only a novice spellcaster, I assume she wouldn't pick a fight she couldn't win herself. She wouldn't think of Adrea as reliable.

Question: What's Adrea's take, is the broken wing a fresh wound? Can she tell how strong Kip looks?

Adrea's insight: The damage to Kip's wing definitely looks like an old wound and not something that happened recently. She also appears to be pretty strong, probably the most physically fit harpy she's seen since coming to the city.

Firstly, don't ask anything verbally, we want to remain in stealth until it's no longer necessary. Follow Kip's lead. If Kip starts a flight be ready to cast some spells (blind would be best if we can cast it at a point where it won't impede Kip), but if the choice is left up to us we should find another path to the herb.

I'm in favor of the same option as ProtocolARC and Ragiogenic, best to take Kip's lead, she's the one likely to have a decent idea of what's going on with this unexpected development.
