Moonlight's Burden By LivesInAStomach -- Report

It leapt from the bed with its muscled hind legs and latched onto Enrric with its claws, the both of them tumbling to the ground. Enrric yelped as he felt his back collide with the cold ground, those claws gripping his body with enough force to keep him down, but not enough to penetrate the skin. They locked eyes. Enrric stared right into those glowing, red orbs and gulped nervously as the werewolf growled in its throat.

“S...S-Solina, it's me…” Enrric stammered, trying to reach that person he knows is still deep inside.

But then the werewolf just parted its jaws. In the dim room, Enrric could just barely see past those jagged fangs, past a fleshy tongue and into a cavernous abyss that widened with every passing second.

If you've read my most recent blog post then you already know that I cancelled my plans to write 31 stories for Voretober. And that's still true, unfortunately.

But day 5's prompt for this year's Voretober, "Moonlight," instantly made me recall the protagonists of last year's Voretober story Full Belly Under the Full Moon; Solina the werewolf and her steadfast lover Enrric, both of whom were born from a prompt that was much subtler than this one (it was "Curse.") That was one of last year's most popular stories, and I knew a ton of people who wanted me to revisit these characters.

But this story isn't really a sequel, either. So what is it exactly? Well, its kind of like a "remastered" version, in addition to featuring a completely new and alternate ending. Using a much more laid-back writing process, I was able to use the original story as a framework with which to add more detail, more description, and just generally write it better than I did a year ago. But to prevent myself from just rehashing an old story, I wrote an entirely original ending so this story can have a chance at standing on its own two feet.

I thought this was a very interesting writing experiment! In my current state, I found it much easier to improve upon an already existing work, rather than create a wholly original tale completely from scratch. This way, I could actually create some new content that some of you might enjoy. There's been somewhat of a dry spell on my gallery lately and it makes me sad. Publishing this story fills me with excitement! It's been a while since I've done this.

Is this "remastering" process something you'd like to see done with other Voretober stories? Feel free to let me know in the comments! I'm very curious. Alternate endings can be pretty interesting to think about.

Very fun to see a different spin on this! I'd definitely be interested in seeing similar things for your other Voretober work. Great job as always!

It is super nice to be able to read this again! I love the new ending you wrote, really did flesh out the world and the characters themselves!

I hope you are feeling better, thank you for writing this, or re-writing it, for us, I really enjoyed it!

Aaaaaaa! I *love* werewolves! And this concept of long-term Endo where neither participant is expressly willing is so fascinating to me! It's so well-written too! You're so good with evocative language!

I love it, such a great concept for long term endo, I think it'd be great to see more stories remastered, but as always only do what you can, no need to push yourself too hard

amazing little story I always love your characters that you make and the situation of a bit of a unwilling endo situation for both parties seems really interesting. not sure about the werewolf thing but it was a interesting component.

and I will have to give the first part a read over now so I guess I'll learn some more about these two.

I'm very glad you enjoyed it! But don't expect much from the "first" one, haha... this is really not much of a sequel. You won't learn too much, this one is a fair bit longer and more detailed!

So adorable, I absolutely love it!
I’m thinking if werewolf!Solina was gentle enough with Enrric to swallow him whole without so much as scratching him, even though she wasn’t cognizant of what she was doing, then even her beastly side really does love him, deep down (no pun intended).
Perhaps the werewolf just wants to keep him close… :3

You know, you might just be on to something! ;> This is certainly one way to spice up their relationship, that's for sure. I'm sure they'll only come out of this with an even "deeper" appreciation for each other.

I'd love to see some stories showing their antics between this story and the next full moon

Ohoho! Yes, I can see it now... Both of them have to deal with their new realities. That surely make for some interesting shenanigans, huh? I can only imagine the awkward conversation with the rest of the people in the village...

All I'm going to say, is this story in a "due to read" manner. Has given me a kernal of an idea on say; a "loving Werewolf" pred. Under the following lens/es.

>First 'moon', 'unwilling' accident... But not digested, 'loving' instinct wise?
>Second 'moon', could have been let out. But doesn't 'want' to, stomach mating/sex, lewds wise?
>Third/xth 'moon'. It's a marriage. In which case, beloved merges/is absorbed/becomes a werewolves 'stomach', instinct marriage wise?

Or, something along those lines. But it'd probably be if I do a story with those notes in mind. A likely case of "Werewolf side marries a mate. Instinctively" sort of deal. Or 'mates by moonlight, stores/contains' every other night.

And the instincts, don't digest. Merely, 'heal/clean', maintain. Even 'feed' their captive, symbiotically?

Maybe she should eat a acid proof game console, for her belly mate.

Prehaps horror games or near horror games like subnautica, would be the best. The stomach would provide a interesting ambiance and if one needs comfort after it gets too scary, just squirm.

It wonderful to see that someone replied to comments, especially cool authors like you.

Aww, I like that idea. I don't do well with horror games, but I'd probably like them a lot better if I could play them in a stomach.

I always try to respond to every comment I get. And I get a lot, so unfortunately sometimes they fall through the cracks or I forget about them. I glanced at this story today and spotted you. Better late than never, right?
