Not sure what this is? Here's a post explaining the series!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712411
____________
Sorry this one took so long, I was pretty focused on wrapping up the Saint Miluina's update for the past few weeks!

Thanks to some pretty clever suggested strategy, we were able to pass our initiation test with flying colors! On top of good strategy, Adrea was also rolling very well--we even had a crit in there for one of her evasions!

But, initiation aside, we've met back up with Lenora to get started on our mission for the hunter's guild. What do you think we should do, based on the information she presented?

You can find Adrea’s character sheet here!: https://aryion.com/g4/view/712418

Remember, you can ask any questions about the world (that are relevant to the current chapter) if you think you want/need more information about something! I'll do a 'live' intelligence check before answering if it's something Adrea might know.

| CLOSED - There's either a more recent entry available to read or I've already outlined the next chapter! |

Great fight scene! Very dynamic with great description as always. Miriam's new outfit also sounds super cute!

Does Adrea know if any kind of bounty or reward is on offer if she can prove she took out some of these bandits? If there is, I think opting for the faster route is the way to go. Should be more exiting, and I figure with Lenora with us, the group should be able to defend themselves well enough. Ideally the bandits do end up picking a fight and we manage to take a few of them out, maybe even scoring a meal for the trip.

Adrea is only familiar with the bounty we saw from someone trying to put together a group to deal with the bandits a few days prior. So there's some chance whoever posted that could pay something for proof of dealing with some of them, but there's no guaranteed bounty on their heads that she's aware of. (Assuming the party that original bounty was trying to put together wasn't successful/hasn't dealt with it already, it's possible word just hasn't spread. Though don't take that as confirmation one way or the other just because it's coming from me, just thought I'd mention it because it's been a while since the chapter where we saw that :P)

Fair enough. I'd still say we should take that route. If we do run into them and can get proof, we should hold onto it and see about following up with whoever posted the notice trying to form a group when we get back.

Theoretically, the long way keeps us out of trouble. But, in practice, bandits are unlikely to be the only danger out there. A longer, on-foot, journey seems like a bad idea. And as much as I'd like to avoid fighting bandits that could outnumber us, at least its a variable Adrea can take stock of, and be prepared for.
Can Adrea tell if Lenora has any experience fighting bandits?

Or I suppose ask her and let her answer inform Adrea's decision on the route to take.

I'm also down for trying the short route. It'll be important experience, and we'll get to use our other spells that we didn't use during our mock exam.

Great scene! I'm glad that Adrea was able to make use of the slippery surface and we got some good rolls. Hopefully the palace intrigue of the Mage's Guild isn't too much for her to handle.

I would like to ask around the Hunter's Guild and see if anyone has heard about the posse that was being put together to hunt down the bandits (or the number of the bandits for that matter). If they're still being put together then we should offer to join their party on the way to our destination. If they were defeated then we should probably carefully scout the road from the nearest parallel brush. The second route only seems worthwhile if the bandits heavily outnumber the party.

I think we should take the long way. If we could be taken the whole way then the short way would look more appealing, making a show that we are guarding the carriage could have reduced our chances of getting attacked, but as we would need to set up camp, it would be best to do that where the bandits are reportedly staying away from.

I'd ask if there's anything particularly concerning about the bandits first, but if there's not, I'd want to take the short route. Ostensibly, this is so we can reach our goal quicker and maybe even collect a bounty on the bandits if there turns out to be one. Actually, I just want another opportunity to snack on some folks.
