Cestaenias are vile, devious, tapeworm-like creatures that live in the digestive tracts of other beings, a location from which they can control their host’s actions. A cestaenia grants its host abilities beyond what members of their species are normally capable of, most prominent of which is the ability to swallow creatures as large as themself whole. With its mind control abilities, a cestaenia is able to compel its host to eat, but even when regularly feeding on large prey, the parasite is such a calorie hog that the host quickly becomes gaunt, almost skeletal in appearance.
