Puru is a newcomer to the Sanctuary who used to be a guard in the Water Kingdom. He no longer aspires to be a part of the kingdom, taking refuge in the Sanctuary. The Azumarill is very brave, a quality that was overseen by his peers. He is also headstrong, which can sometimes lead to Puru's downfall. His previous encounter with Witchfox is a testament to this, as he wound up in the delphox's belly--fortunately for him, he managed to escape, though he did not learn much from the failure, just that he needed to become stronger and more aware for the next time he messes with somebody more powerful than he.
