Mide is a human slave from Earth with a heart in need of hope. Vaylania is a wolf from Eanli with a dream negated. Mide and his fellow captives are tasked to learn an alien language under the supervision of animal-like alien tutors, but without knowing why.
The second part of the Admission Cycle, following my prior story, Seven Days.
21~k words. Vore-hungry readers can find a charming dinner-date vore scene by searching the magic word "wreathed".

Also, there's heavy vore talk with prey subjugation & depersonalization, treating them as items to be bought, livestock, and related themes.

You're an amazing writer!
This story, (and the couple other Eanli Cosmos stories I've read), disturbs me in ways that are hard to explain.
I think it's because the whole universe is twisted beyond salvation. The people living in the story's universe can't fix it because they don't even realize anything is wrong.
The prey are completely brainwashed, they don't even consider escaping. The preds have no self-awareness and genuinely believe they're helping the prey.
Vaylania honestly scares me more then most horror movies. I can't really blame her either since she's exactly the sort of predator this universe would make. She's not a flaw in this system, she's the product of it.
I can never seam to write anything as dark as this.
I haven't read many of your Eanli Cosmos stories, but if there all as good as this one I'm gonna have a great time.
I'm looking forward to the next part. :)

Thanks for the very kind compliment, and I'm glad that these stories are engaging!

These kinds of detail-rich long-form stories scratch and itch that typically goes unscratched. So I came on here and I just started scratchin'...

Great story. Your preds are both kind but still dominant. Love it.

I just reread this, and something occurred to me: Is the use of 'incarceration contracts' in dictator-America based upon the fact that the Thirteenth Amendment contains an exception for people who have been convicted of a crime, which they then used to ignore what the Constitution says without technically changing it, a la Jim Crow, thus allowing them to pretend that nothing significant has changed?
