I like to imagine that each story is non-canon to the others, like each one is it's own little universe or something, like old Loony Toons, ya know. Correct me if I'm wrong tho Mobius

I usually prefer to let that up to the viewer, like, it's the viewer personal privilege to choose, in his mind, what's the outcome. They reform, it's a dream, the pred is merciful and eventually let them go after a while...

To each their own, as they say, so, it's really all up to the viewer to decide what's happening.

In general tho I never reply to those kinda questions, because I find them pretty dumb.

Like, you never see on this site questions like "Why can X eat Y whole? Doesn't his jaw snaps?". So yeah, like, there's no "Wrong" or "Right", because everyone got their own preference, heh.
