Wait , how do the news papers report the deaths .. like there’s no bodies , no witnesses , etc . Do they just report dozens of missing people ? I wonder if there’s a newspaper article or a news segment on tv dedicated to the constant vanishing and death.

Unless the town just doesn't give a damn, they probably cover it up. Taken may be non-canon but it does present a possible theory that the deaths are covered up.
