How come the girls so casually accept death? (its hot that they do so, but I'm curious if you have any ideas in mind)

The implied reformation is super easy to miss because it's the very last line in the story, but the implication from it is that they were willing to accept it because they knew they'd come back.
If you take that line away, then it just becomes, "Because they love Sunset."
