I've seen a lot of other works around here that handwave away a sort of digestive euphoria where the nervous system gets overwhelmed by the stimulus of dissolving and interprets every signal as pleasure. Maybe it's something along those lines, maybe it's masochism. Either way, the important part to me is that Fiona seems to be enjoying herself.

I think the answer to this (at least in the case of this story) is pretty straightforward. It's already pretty clear that these folks are pretty different from humans in our world. Not only can they stretch in ways we can't to devour their lovers whole, they treat such acts with casual dismissal, or at least as casual as we dismiss sex. Since vore, in this instance, is clearly a sexual act, it makes sense that the brain would release pleasure signals the same way it does for regular sex. To them, pleasure from vore is probably baked directly into their biology.

I tend to appreciate the 'being digested alive is so intense that the nervous system eventually interprets the pain as pleasure in euphoria' approach since that still gives the digestive system it's destructive due, but as Shadowfaps mentions, perhaps the specifics aren't as important as the intent.

In either case, we're not likely to get a clear answer from Fiona afterwards...

1 year later and this is still by far one of my favorite comics to read on here!!! Reminds me of a cabin trip I had up north with some friends. I would love to bring pleasure in the form of being unbirthed by someone who I've admired for so many years or giving her the pleasure of being all mine ;)
