I love my little PikmAns to bits and feel so horrible if my poor planning leads to a single one of their deaths (except in Pikmin 1, where they aggressively huff paint and it's hardly my fault when they screw up).
But yeah, if this was an option, I'd happily make every day a rapturous little Pikmin genocide... day...
... Do you think John Pikman, inventor of the Pikmin, would have wanted things to be this way? I'd like to think so. Do better, Nintendo.

hmm, would the deaths all happen at the same time or gradually as the onion gets filled with acids and more pikmin lose their comrads digesting corspes to stand above the acids. Also maybe the pred just burps out a SWARM of pikmin souls

Speaking of that: I did initially want to draw numerous distinct Pikmin souls - but having done so, it looked... just awful. Like some kind of horrific disease. And I was like "Yeah, nope, can't do that."
So that's why they've all just... congealed into a bIG-min soul. An acceptable compromise, methinks.
