Someone got what they wanted here, and it wasn't the sea lion. Maybe this series would be better titled "Selfish Callie." But at least the sea lion still got a meal, albeit a much bigger one than it expected.

He'd better not get to close to the sea edge, or some Hungry Orca won't be able to resist such a well stuffed morsel.

Heh. Then that Orca would have to be careful to avoid one of your bigger predators. Makes you wonder just how many levels you could manage. That might make a fun series, small pred eating small prey and then being eaten by a bigger pred, and so on and so on.

Like that very familiar cartoon with the fish lined up in order of smallest to biggest, all about to be swallowed by the next in line.

The orcas near the Friendly Beach are the top of the local food chain and often the arbiters of justice when animals misbehave. Elsewhere they have to worry about things like Great Mother Bear or Brother Long, but not here.
