The dialogue not only accentuates why Simba deserves this fate, but why I never cared much about Lion King in the first place. Simba as a cub is an obnoxious, spoiled brat with almost no likable qualities. Then, when he's an adult, he's a lazy bum whose only character development is arbitrary and forced because the movie needs to have a happy ending.

I'm not saying a good movie can't be made with those ideas. And I don't hate the movie. But with such an unlikable main character, I never understood everyone's obsession with it.
