Robin Hood vs. Zorro
Who would win?!
By Misterebony
My last of the demo rounds, this one puts two icos against one another. In this case, Robin Hood takes on Zorro. Who would win? Again, comments have to be who would win and why IYO. Also, Inspiration for this and the other stories was, of course, Deadliest Warrior. Watch it!
BACKGROUND
Robin Hood: A legendary bandit who robbed the rich to feed the poor. Based on the many movies, he had a variety of skills and weapons, his trademark always being the long bow. He will also carry the quarterstaff, throwing knife, and longsword for this battle.
Zorro: A mexican hero who also defended the innocent. always in black and a master of the rapier, usually going after the Spanish aristocracy. He carries that rapier into this battle, as well as a whip, a musket, and a pistol, all accurate based on the timeframe of the era.
ROUND 1: Long Range Weapons (Longbow vs. Musket)
WINNER..... ROBIN HOOD. This is almost no contest. The longbow is more accurate, more deadly, and can be fired more times. Zorro better hope the fight is not from long range.
ROUND 2: Mid-Range Weapons (Whip vs. Quarterstaff)
WINNER...... ZORRO. The whip is far deadlier than the quarterstaff and reaches further. Moreover, it can disarm the opponent. There just seems to be no way Robin can strike from this distance.
ROUND 3: Special Weapons (throwing knife vs. revolver)
WINNER..... ZORRO. Zorro got lucky that the repeating pistol was developed during his time. It is not accurate but is still more deadly than Robin's throwing knives, which have a chance of hitting at the handle and, as a result, being useless.
ROUND 4: Close Range Weapons (Rapier vs. Longsword)
WINNER..... ROBIN HOOD. Zorro will be shocked if he fights against Robin. that sword of his is so powerful it will break his sword apart! So much for all that fancy swordplay.
FINAL RESULT
DRAW.
This battle is actually too close for me to call. The key is distance. Robin dominates from afar and up close, but in between Zorro has the edge. This fight would come down to a lucky blow, and since each weapon is about the same all the way around, the only way I see this ending is two great heroes lying dead on the grass. Either Robin will score a hit with that bow and be nailed with a lucky musket shot, or up close Zorro will be run through, only to have Robin blasted in the gut with the revolver. Robin may be whipped to where he is bleeding to death, but that throwing knife will kill up close. Int he end this is too tight for me to call, so I leave it to the readers to decide.
