What is it with religious groups going after perfectly peaceful predators? Don't they realize doing that will only make those predators more aggressive? Some people... oh well, I guess they'll make for excellent fat on Sophie's hips in the end :3
Well, I can see that she'd kill them off to defend herself, but that's still no excuse for heartlessly murdering an innocent catgirl just to keep her belly full.
What the heck does that first statement even mean? Do they need Jesus to be favorable in your eyes? Secondly, how about you look at the rest of Shyguy's work before you make such an unfounded statement. She's not likeable to you because you're pressing your reckless morality onto her. These two are a grave threat to Sophie because they share the same capacity for cruelty. Sophie is a predator, she doesn't need to be nice or show compassion (but she does with Bee, how about you look at those comics?). Seriously, if you don't like people's subject matter, stop reading it. It will save you a lot of headaches.
Which your morality is already screwed up~ You have no qualms with murder if it's 'justified'. Wouldn't the logical conclusion for this series, if we wanted to save cruelty and murder, be that these two get arrested and Sophie is taken outside, swaddled in a blanket and given some cocoa. Likewise, you constantly use the word 'bitch' in a derogatory and aggressive manner when posting. That can be construed as offensive to a lot of people. So Adria Richards, please step away from the keyboard.
I'm saying those two are pretty much dead from the beginning. And Sophie cares about her "friend" like she cares about anyone else. Her "friend" just so happens to be at the right place at the right time, avoiding being eaten by this monster. Unless he's willing to give her morals about who to eat, besides with ONE person, she's just a selfish whore that needs to be put down.
also, this sort of..."trolling" be it sincere or otherwise seems to be par for the course with the poster you're arguing with... the concept of "entertainment in fantasy" doesnt compute apparently, since even perfectly normal people are entertained by rape...murder... "you blew up a childrens hospital, there was an investigation, 18 children died Peter, and the FBI knows it was you"
It certainly helps make your point to spout a misogynistic slur.
Sophie's morality is definitely questionable in our eyes. Of course, she's also an inhuman monster, so the fact that she gulps down the catgirl is really a moot point. It's wrong, and we know it's wrong.
Fact is, though, we're not meant to focus on the dragon lady. At issue in the comic is the behavior of our two human characters. They're the same species as us, raised in the same culture as us, with the same ethical guidelines as the rest of us. Or at least, they should have these.
We can maybe forgive a dragon for devouring live prey without batting an eye; it's horrible, and bad, and the visceral horror of being trapped inside a creatures stomach to be digested alive is about as nightmarish a fate as I can imagine. But she's a beast, and it seems like an awkward stretch to assign her our own, human morals. We don't necessarily know the background she's coming from, the way she looks at the world. We don't know how she fits into the rest of this world, and I'm in agreement with what you said earlier; how does a predator like Sophie fit into the rest of this world? How does she, literally, get away with murder? Do people just not notice the people she eats? Because then that raises not only a chilling moral question about her, but about the world at large-- our disregard towards the suffering of others.
We do know where the human characters are coming from, though; they're not only completely okay with sentencing an innocent to death for their own pleasure and gratification, they also objectify Sophie as a tool for further sating their own pleasure. She's there to satisfy them, and once they're done, she's as disposable as the catgirl was. It's a very visceral example of man's inhumanity to man, and (as I'm sure we can see where this story is going) they're about to suffer some pretty steep consequences for their cruelty and hubris.
The frustrating thing is, *that's more-or-less the point you've already made.* Everyone here is wrong, everyone here (save the catgirl, who is hardly in the story though) is being immoral. But we already know that Sophie is a bad person. That's not a surprise to anyone. It's the callousness of the human characters that should make us very, very uncomfortable.
And you blew it all by dismissing Reiko as a 'dumb bitch.' So congrats. You hosed an attempt to make an interesting moral point about the characters by being ignorant and offensive. Good job.
I add to this that this guy despise Sophie but fav' Karbo's work (which present the same kind of content with non-humans eating innocent without any moral...)
Where is the logic in that?
The only one I see is that Karbo's 'monsters' are hot enough to grant him fantasm behind his screen and dragon aren't his thing so he just came to troll the picture...
this is why, if at all,you are wanting to get at a pred like Sophie you need to think with the head that has the brain, not the head that has balls hanging under it.
Interesting... I didn't expect to get this much characterization or motivation with these two. Y'know, it's one thing to feed a dragon a catgirl for recreational purposes (hey, don't tell me you've never snarfed a couple of them at a party before!), but for this sort of cruel, utilitarian purpose... Well, now I just have no sympathy for these two creeps!

Those two care about life like they care about God. If anything, this Sophie needs some character development to make her a more likeable person.
