Imber folded her wings and crumbled her body as to seem smaller. She had managed to fly away from Lagoon, the huge blue dragon, and was hiding behind a rock. Her tail twitched and she wanted to fight him badly, but she knew she was in no condition to do so. She was exhausted and her wings hurt. The wind hadn't been on her side that night.
No matter how long, she taught. I'll wait here until Nessie calls on me. And she will, I know she's stronger than him. Now where did Lagoon go? Poking her head out from the rocks she tried to see where he could have gone. Her horns got stuck in one of the branches of a nearby tree. While she casually tried to get loose her eyes went to the moon. It shone bright in the sky, making her want to touch it. Her instincts told her to catch it, to taste the colors of the magical moon.
She stood still for a while, dreamily watching the yellow, red and blue ball in the sky. Wait... blue? No, it can't be!? She panicked as Lagoon came flying right at her.
Imber pushed the tree down with her body, prying free her horn. She had nowhere to run, she couldn't even fly away from him. Her bach was pressed against the mountainside and on both her sides were rocks. Lagoon moved swiftly, as waterdragons usualy do, and she knew she had no chance to outmanouvre him. So she waited until he came close enough.
No more hiding, little one! Lagoon roared at her, showing his sharp teeth to her. Imber took a deep breath, just waiting to be assaulted and even killed. She knew she had done something bad and there was no turning back now. When Lagoon was just a few feet away she turned her head in his direction and let her flames out.
The chock of the flames blinded Lagoon and blurred his taste buds, and the smell was disturbing him. He lost his balance and almost crashed right into Imber at full speed, but she was faster than him. She jumped at the last second, slamming his head to the ground and jumping unto his back. She used his body like a ramp: taking flight much easier. His tail almost caught her, but she managed to turn the very last second.
Hah! You never were a good hunter, Lagoon! She screamed in his mind as she flew away as fast as she could. Her wings were tired and she could feel a muscle in her left shoulder stretching painfully with every hit. The wind wasn't on her side this time and she found herself in the same, miserably hard situation as she had been in just a couple of minutes ago. She was trying to get away from him, but his wings were much stronger than hers.
Look, I just want to talk. I'm tired of this and we both know there is no way you can outfly me. Let's talk like the adult dragons we are. This isn't even our fight! He pleaded. In the beginning of this hunt Lagoon had felt exited and done whatever he could to win, but the stake of his friendship with Imber was grinded down with each hit of her wings. He didn't really want to hunt her, he was only doing it because Sadon had told him to.
The goal was to get Nessie to see if the potion really worked, Imber. I never thought you would object to that! He told her, trying madly to catch up with her.
She never took that potion willingly and you know very well that she's my rider. There is no way in hell you thought it would be "fine". And with that Imber turned around. She didn't even try to hide her anger nor her hate towards him and his decision. She attacked him face on.
He tried to avoid her attack by pushing her away with his paws and tail, but she kept on manoeuvering around and hitting him in vital spots. Lagoon wasn't a fighting dragon. He was to big to move fast and to small to crush her in his paws.
Imber attacked his wings, making them both fall towards the ground in a deadly speed. She had it all under control, of course, but he was becoming mad with fear of death. He turned and roared, trying to get her off of his back any way possible, but he couldn't.
In a last attempt to get her off his back he turned around trying to breath fire at her, but he hadn't expected her to stand right there. His maw was bigger than hers, it was even bigger than her body. He had opened his maw to scare her away or blind her with fire. But before they both knew it Lagoon had Imber in his mouth. Her body went straight to his throat. It all happened too fast. She struggled to get loose, but he turned his head back, grabbed her torso and pushed her further into his mouth. He never bit, not once, because he didn't want her to get hurt. Before he knew it he was standing still on the ground, opening and closing his maw to check if everything was alright with his jaw.
The thrill and excitement had left him not thinking of the consequences, and as he suddenly thought about it his stomach began hurting. Damn, he said. Now I've done it! My stomach is going to burst if I don't get her out! Ough, I feel so heavy... I should get to Sadon before something happens to Imber. He couldn't fly with Imber in his stomach, because he didn't know if he had the strength to fly two dragons. And he was getting tired. His eyelids were falling and he felt full, like after eating a huge meal (hehe). But somehow he managed to get to the mansion he had left Sadon in.
Ugh, I must have lost consciousness... Where am I? Oh, and why is it so tight in here. It is cozy and it makes me really sleepy... Where did Lagoon go? Imber said out loud, startling Lagoon.
It's alright, Imber. You just close your eyes and take a nap. I'll protect you. He told her, curling around his stomach with his tail and wings and laying, waiting for Sadon to come out.
