Another retelling of the monster-in-a-box. A creature I had in mind called Nasty Serprize.

The warrioress crept through the dungeon, shivering as the damp air from the wet stones gave her a chill, the golden bikini chainmail she wore offering scant protection from the elements. Why oh why, she wondered, did women fighters have to wear such skimpy armor? It was a mystery, just the way things were.

Her discomfort was forgotten as she spied a box, a huge gleaming treasure chest! She rubbed her hands with glee and ran forward. Such a huge ornate box would surely contain a fortune!

She opened the box and low and behold, it wasn't a treasure but a huge green serpent that sprang out to greet her! She was so startled she took a step back and threw up her hands, her sword falling with a clang to the dungeon floor.

Remembering her training, she reached for the sword, but it was too late. It's mouth agape, the serpent lunged down, closing his jaws on her head and chest and lifting her screaming and wriggling into the air! Legs kicked and flailed and the warrioress squealed, but it was all to no avail. With a *Gulp!* the outline of the warrioress's head and shapely chest appeared in the beast's throat, while her rounded tush slipped down the beast's jaws!

The warrioress's cries were rather muffled by now. Not that it mattered; no one would have been foolish to interrupt the beast enjoying his dinner. He took his time, and inch by inch those long bare kicking legs slid down into his jaws and down his throat, until finally there was nought left of the maiden but a squirming squealing bulge in the serpents belly.

Content, the beast retreated back into his box whose lid closed with a clang, while muffled cries and ominous growls and groans sounded from his distended belly. The muffled cries grew softer and less frequent, until finally there was nothing but the sounds of digesting meat. The next morning, the beast woke up and stuck his out to belch up a slimy golden chainmail bra and set of briefs.

If comments were sweets, this one would be a Double Chocolate cake with cherries. :D

Thanks for adding on to the story! ^^

Look on the bright side. At least it wasnt a mimic this time.

True. But sometimes I wonder if most monster-in-a-box beasties still count as mimics in some way. I mean, they still pop out of a magic box that imitates (or mimics) a treasure chest. You know what I'm saying?

Nah. A mimic is a monster that looks like a box (usually) as opposed to a monster thats hiding in a box.

Oh, okay then.

Granted for the adventuress, I doubt she really cares seeing as she's still inside a monster's digestive tract right now.

This is true. Kalili gets to see alot of monster insides. Isually right as shes grabbing for a treasure too. heh-heh.
