Support sneks, generally growing to three feet in length, can be found comfortably wrapped around their partner's upper arms. This allows them to rest lightly upon their larger partner's shoulders or "stand straight" to whisper into an ear. Occasionally, one can be found wrapped tightly around their partner's neck, as punishment for some slight. (Never mistreat your support snek!)
A twitching of the tip of their tail indicates their emotional state: Slow, lazy movements often mean contentment, while more abrupt motions signify anger or irritation. Slight shivering points to trepidation and fear. Experienced partners can feel these motions, bypassing the need to glance at their smaller passengers, especially useful when attempting to venture silently through poorly-lit dungeons.
Support sneks are adept at all sorts of magic, but typically specialize in Holy (healing) and Stealth (camouflage) or Detection (trap finding) enchantments.
A support snek will often partner with a larger humanoid for a period of up to two to three years, although lifetime pairings are not unheard of.
Sadly, due to their size, they are a prey species. Hence the reason to partner with larger, stronger people: A way to bypass this natural deficiency. They themselves are able to eat anything smaller than them, a lucky quirk of a distending jaw and their hybrid nature.
They range in color from forest greens to vivid pastels, depending on their birth region. Their dispositions are generally warm and cheerful.
Support sneks can be found riding on their partner's arms and more infrequently in large cities, looking for a new partner.
