You sigh and decide to drink the potion. You would like to at least let Jates know what is going on, so you can get over the side effects while waiting for her to wake. You ask the doctor what sort of bad effects you can expect.
"Ah, that potion." He nods to you. "Firstly, it doesn't taste pleasant. Secondly, it will make you feel nauseous for a while. The effect only lasts for a few hours usually. It also is a strong prevention medicine as well, preventing further pregnancy for quite some time. At least a month for most humans." You perk up a little at that. At least you will be able to have fun without consequence for a while.
You pull the stopper on the potion and are about to give it a testing sniff before Mitchell stops you. "I... wouldn't smell it if I were you. It really is quite bad." You're starting to get a little worried, but decide to just try and down it quickly. Chugging it down, you quickly realize he wasn't joking. It tastes like horse sweat. At least, what you imagine horse sweat to taste like. You manage to keep it down though. After a few minutes, you feel it start to take effect. You also feel the bad effects that the doctor warned you of. You don't feel them very long though. Mainly because you faint.
...
You wake up some time later in your inn room. Myla is eating some food at the small table. You groggily wake up and ask her what happened.
"Oh, you're up." She looks over at you. "Apparently sometimes that potion causes people to faint. Doctor said you'll be fine though. Actually, he said that it's a good thing. It means you got to skip the worst of the bad effects." She looks down at her food. "Listen uh... Thanks. For everything. I know I'm not really helping you out much right now..." You assure her that it's fine and ask her what time it is. "Oh. Uh... sometime afternoon, I think. Not super late, but we probably shouldn't plan on going anywhere today." You ask her if she's fine. She nods. "Yeah. I talked with the doctor more. He did a few more tests that he could. He says that my memory thing is likely not pro... uh... he said I won't get worse unless I take more potions." You ask if she forgot the word he used. She pouts a little. "It was... it was just a big word, alright? I already told you before that I'm not exactly very learned."
The beastkin stands up and walks over to the bed, sitting next to you. "I also talked with the captain guy. About the fortress. He said that they already got its location out of the bandits he questioned. Apparently, some soldiers are going there to make sure it's cleared out. He said they were gonna be in town tomorrow and head out the next day, I think." She thinks for a few moments. "And uh... that Garrett guy. He's been kinda following me around all day. Keeps asking me to tell him stories and stuff. I mean, he seems like a decent guy, but he's kinda an idiot." She sighs. "And... I think that's all that's really happened while you were out. Edris hasn't showed up yet." You ask her what she thinks of Edris. Myla thinks for a minute. "I... I don't know. I think I made a mistake with her. Honestly... I... don't remember much about us meeting her. I remember that she was one of Nysk's lackeys but... that's really about it..."
You realize that Myla isn't mad at you because she doesn't actually remember what you said the other night. You guess that's kinda good, though not really the best...

Potion has been used. We are now immune to pregnancy for a while. If you're curious about the votes, it was still fairly close as far as Drink vs Don't Drink/Wait goes, but Drink won with 52% of the votes. Curiously, there was a single vote for "BURN THE INN". I do wonder who might have done that. :V

Talk to Garrett, see what he thinks about joining for adventuring. We could use more back up.
If appropriate, talk about taking on the bandit fortress, we could use more gold and loot before we head off to deal with Myla's problem.
If Edris is at the fort, it might be best to capture her for interrogation and um, other activities.

No potions for the wolfgirl, but now she gets a month of free poundings on Floira.
Two groups after the bandit fort? That could get messy.
For right now, have Floira eat and offer Myla a bath. The wolf has been passed out each time she got bathed, so might be nice for her to be aware for once.

Well, as nice it is that she is not mad, we owe her an apology about that. She wouldn't listen to us about it earlier, so I think we should briefly mention how we "spared" Edris, and then how we suggested something stupid that made Myla very mad at us. If she is to remember what we did, we want Myla to understand that Floria sincerely regrets it. Even if she doesn't remember it, we at least get to tell her that we are sad about betraying her trust, more or less.
If we have to consider how Edris will react when we tell her we won't be helping her out with the raid, Myla should be aware of the situation with her.
Also, has Jates woken up again while we were out? It'd be nice to hear she is feeling better.

I'm both for and against this idea. It would be a good idea to let Myla know as to how Edris came into the party, but at the same time, she might not like what we did.
I think it's worth a shot, help her fill in the blanks. Having a chance to properly apologize to her would be good.
Speaking of Edris, we should tell her about the guards. She won't be happy about that. She might call off the attack. Then again she might want us to attack it sooner. We might be able to help the other group with the attack, another option.

I agree with Sergit on talking with Myla about that night. I think we should talk with the captain about heading to the fortress. I dont think 1400 gold is going to cover fixing Myla, and the fortress is the only lead we have on some cash. Edris should be back in time to go with the soldiers, and if Edris was setting a trap for us, having the soldiers there as backup should help. Thieving skills would actually come in handy in that situation. We'd get some brownie points with Edris for whatever it was she was needing at the fort, and we should hopefully get enough cash to cure our fluffball.
I like the idea of Garrett joining us. Even if he has 0 combat skills, having some fast transportation could come in handy. He's obviously got some high STR even if his WIS stat is a little low. Maybe we could make him into a archer or a knight class of some sort.

Time for some bonding time. Be it bath, over dinner, or on the bed, we should put some effort reminding Myla of past events and refresh her memory. Remind her about the potion's additional effect of 1 month of birth control, and let her know that she can let loose whenever she feels the need to. And if she doesn't even remember that, then maybe we can "learned" her some techniques in the bedroom.

I agree with the other comments on letting her know what we did. Lying will hurt us in the long run if she remembers later. And of course apologize for we did, we got carried away and went too far.

Ask if Myla thinks Garrett is a cute idiot. Yes, he likely is annoying. That's what men are, but is he cute annoying or just annoying? How cute? She thinking of popping his cherry if he proves cute enough? We offer to help as needed, with assurance we are not going to be jealous. Encourage her to seduce the lad.
Speaking of which, Myla hasn't had any for quite awhile now. Should we take care of that tonight? tomorrow? Better check with doc on that.
So head to see doctor, or sent a note with Myla if we are still not feeling our best. Questions...
How soon for vigorous activity? We want pretty full recovery in 2 days so bed rest tonight? or bed fun tonight?
What are rules for safe potion use? None for day? week? only certain types? Are staff and spells safe? or do they have some danger too?
Advise doc to see other patients while he is in town, and charge them. Maybe not in full, but he is helping them, and they should help him too.
See captain next We offer to help on the attack on the fort. Mention that Edris will be showing up to help too.
Probably rest of the day in bed.
Oh yes, don't mention much about our joining with Edris unless she wants or needs to know. If she does ask, see if "You did her a big favor and showed her major mercy, not that she is properly grateful, but she may still prove useful, and you were very noble in doing so anyway." will satisfy her.

For "safe potion use", do you mean for Myla? Cause if so, the doctor has already stated that Myla can't take ANY potions for a long time until she recovers from potion poisoning.

Tell Myla what we did, but also let her know how much we regret it.
Also, I'm all for kicking Edris out of the party: replace her with Garrett, and go with the soldiers tomorrow to clear out the fort.

Enjoy the night with her, try to build up a little bit of an emotional connection x3
(The more close we are to her, the less chance of her eating us- or getting pissed at us)
Then, in the morning (after a nice, long "cuddle") we should check on Jates and maybe ask Garrett if he wants to join us?
Maybe >m< Because Idk if I want horse boy expecting a lot from us- we have SOME money, but not that much...

In the last post, Sergit suggested we quiz Myla. I think we should do that to see how much Myla remembers, it's not just recent things she's forgetting.
We should start with if she remembers Konic and go from there. It would be pretty bad if she forgot who Konic was and we tell her about what happened with Edris.

I have had plenty of votes not go my way as well, but there are always going to be multiple opinions with some valid points. Not everyone can be made happy, so we try to solve that with the votes. If it's any consolation, puppies aren't necessarily out of the picture, just for the time being.

That's the thing about these sort of choose the adventure by vote thing, people vote for stupid things like let's be a pregnant adventurer.
I found that very annoying, because we really didn't have a chance not to get pregnant - the whole cross species fertility thing was not obvious at start (never mind the auto pregnancy thing).
It would have been much better if the setting allowed us to choose to get pregnant (or not, most likely). That was up to the author during world creation, and here we are now, with choices that will alienate a significant number of readers regardless as to how they go.

Well the choice to have sex with the fluffy herm was there, so that implied at least the risk of pregnancy.
On the flip side, Myla is likely up for a there some with Jates, once she heals up enough. Thus, Jates can carry the next batch of puppies with little risk.

Then the vote that won initially gets ignored and we are railroaded into a highly disturbing puppy abortion scene instead. Then when that vote gets a result that is also close, all of a sudden that one is accepted as valid even though when the pro-life option won it was also close, it was arbitrarily declared invalid.
It's like having a jammed button on a controller that works when it feels like whether or not it's being pressed. That's what we're playing ARPG with at this point.

Rayen himself said he was pro-puppies. There were 3 options for this poll, and seeing as the author favored one of the choices that lost, there was probably a big split between the two other options. But thats the thing with this format, you lose some votes and win others.
But lets be honest here, theres a VERY high probability that Floria would have had a miscarriage. She's an adventurer. Getting punched in the gut or worse is in the job description. And puppies arent out of the question yet. Thats still my ideal ending to this adventure.

You bring up a good point... What if we had decided to keep the pups, only to be seriously injured later? Floria got to choose to drink that potion: it would have been so much more heart breaking if she lost them as a result of adventuring. All the more reason to wait until AFTERWARD she's done with her career to settle down and start a family.
