Reading the story it's pretty clear it's for Tai's Enjoyment, not Gatomon's.

as far as I'm concerned it's fatal. But I left it more open ended since it was a trade and the ending wasn't the focus.

The "not going to be able to get you back out" part did kind of imply that I suppose. This was a fun little story, and I think fleshing out the reasons behind the decisions and inter-character relationships would add to it.
