The trial begins with Cynthia's first day as a fledgling Goddess.

I'm calling this chapter a prologue because it's long, technical and mostly only exists to explain the core mechanics of the setting. I don't want to call it the first real chapter because, well... not much happens. It turned out to be pretty damn long too, but in the end, I feel like I summarized everything I needed to in order for the story to proceed unhindered.
When I wrote the first draft, I made the mistake of having the characters obtain very specific powers over a grueling amount of time. That put me on a very narrow path with a lot to cover and not a lot to of space to work with. This time, I'm making the powers more generalized and leaving it up to the characters themselves to figure out what they're capable of.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this chapter. It drags on a bit, but still gets all the major functions of the setting out of the way, leaving a wide-open frontier of weirdness that I'm very eager to start experimenting with. Enjoy!
