One Tag Per Line!

I guess I can post this, since the time of the agreement has long since passed.
I drew this for  swallowtail for their first magazine. Kinda held off on posting it for a while because, to be honest, I'm not very proud of it. The idea was solid enough, I guess, but my heart wasn't in it, and I was intimidated by all the superior talent in the magazine, so the pressure was on and I don't do well under pressure.

Anyway, blabbering aside, hope someone enjoys this at least. Comparing it to stuff I do now, you can see how far I've come in a few years' time, which I AM happy about. :)

You've certainly improved over the years, not to mention the gradual style shift, but it still seems very well done. Don't be so hard on yourself!

Though in fairness I suppose I probably don't have nearly as clear a memory of how this compared to your work at the time.

I'm not being too hard on myself, really. I did better stuff than this at the time I did this, even. My heart just wasn't into this particular project, so it turned out "meh." Not proud of that, especially since it probably bumped someone else off the list who might've wanted it more, but it is what it is, and I wanted to help out Swallowtail 'cuz I adore their mission statement.

But yeah, I'm better and more confident now. I wouldn't be intimidated being in the same mag as the likes of  ShyGuy9 or others of that general talent level anymore. Still not as good, obviously, but I'm not significantly worse anymore either.

I can see it from that angle, yeah. And in the end, Swallowtail is still around (though I suppose I don't know how successful they are), so you can at least be proud of your contribution to its beginnings.

Yeah. They're trying a resurgence now, so here's hoping they stick with it this time.
