The Mwee-on-Earth group of stories is my favorite yet, I think. I've had a soft spot for them since Wrestling Match, but the inclusion of human (especially ignorant human) interaction seems like it's going really well. It comes off as refreshingly innocent.
...most times, at least. But I suspect that was the point.
These stories are what happens when people with extreme fetishes can act them out without permanently hurting people but still have to hide them because the common public wouldn't approve. Sometimes their prey even benefit fom being eaten, like Arturo. 83
I've been really liking all the sci-fi type stories you've been making lately. Even though I like the humiliation and finality of "evil" preds, I'm starting to think I prefer the kindness and miracle tech of the mwee and other alien species. I just find them more compelling, and I loved reading about and imagining the history and different subspecies of mrish in this one.
Most of my predators are inherently malevolent or just hungry, but the mwee and their followers see it all as harmless fun and do it without doing permanent damage to anyone, as least as far as they are concerned. They don't have a soul/spirit belief so they don't worry that the molecule by molecule perfect copy their machines make after they eat someone isn't the "real" person.

That ending was oddly touching ;_;
Also I'm kinda curious what Sharpfang are, based solely off that neat name of theirs lol

Short version, sabertoothed mrish. Like Mira but quadrupedal and very carnivorous, with three inch fangs to go with the claws.
