In adapting this for the gallery I've skipped over some of the backstory (much of which will show up in the "Extras" folder once I get to that). Dean knew from Chapter 1 (where Jessica "erases" him) that his trip was one-way, and this seems like the beginning of the end for him.
With only a slight spoiler: Jessica and Amy really do value Dean more than they're letting on. Jessica has a reward in store for him that she intends as a pleasant surprise: stick through chapters 4 and 5 and you'll see where we're heading with it.
Skimming through the original topic, there's a lot of material connected to the early chapters that hasn't been brought over.
As is, Jessica is a typical introductory vore predator. She shows us the setting and tone while we get our bearings. From an overall standpoint she's evil, but not in a way that makes her inhuman (yet), so we can still identify and kind of root for her while she shows us the world. She has friendships, love, and a twisted sort of care that still leads to death. She gets the ball rolling.
What she doesn't have here, is any sign or discussion of a morality, or more than two people to converse or interact with.

Well this took a turn fast. The previous one was sweet, while this one is basically horror genre.
Had the same grip of a train wreck where I couldn't stop watching. Probably won't start further ones though.
