I've been contemplating this change for a while now and I've finally submitted to it. Tanya will be kept by Slash, but now there will be Mika to replace her as a retconning. She has the same personality but now has different colors and a changed backstory.
It will be an awkward transition replacing Tanya, but it shouldn't be too bad hopefully, for you guys and me. I can at least now be happy to say I've got a carnivorous rabbit of my own.
Before anyone asks, no this is not the result of any sort of falling out with Slash, so please don't spread any rumors.

I say the more carnivorous rabbits, the better! I don't think the story will be ruined, and I know I'll still enjoy it nonetheless!

Tract cannon. Yessss. That is still one of my favorite parts of Rabbit Astray, it's just so delightfully hilarious, so I'm glad Mika retains that ability as well.
A bit of a tricky retcon. I assume you won't be retouching all of those Rabbit Astray pages to exchange the earrings for the necklace, but that you will be using Mika if you feel like doing a second chapter.
But I am sorely tempted to reread through it and see if I can't find any points that such a necklace would have been super useful.
