Looks like Mai managed to catch a rat sneaking in the castle at the dead of night. However it looks like Bulma was also carrying a dragonball at the time, much to the dismay of Mai who will have to inform her master Pilaf that summoning Shenron will have to be delayed somewhat.
And for anyone worrying about Bulma, don't fret! She'll be resurrected with the dragonballs later, though she might be a tad miffed the next time she sees Mai padded with some extra fat that once was her.
