Ganondorf has been revealed as the mastermind of the plot to cover Hyrule in Twilight! Zant had merely been a pawn in the Dark Lord's bid for absolute dominance. Now, Link and Midna must enter Hyrule Castle one last time to confront Ganondorf and rescue Princess Zelda's body. Will they be able to stop Ganondorf at his dangerous game, or will Hyrule be covered in darkness?

Aaaaaannddd now I need to go and read a whole bunch of Midna/link fics to forget that bull shit ending Nintendo forced on us. Lol, great conclusion though. I found Midna’s distress after returning to normal particularly fun.

'Twas destiny that spurned SmaxTheDestroyer's ire by forcing apart Midna and Link. I'm a Zelink purist so the ending didn't bother me, but to each his own. After writing the preview for this chapter like 2 years ago or something, I decided to save all farts until the beginning of the climatic final battle. Once that was out of the way, however, all bets were off the table and Midna had to pay the price for her gluttony.

It comes and goes from game to game. Link/midna made sense in Twilight Princess as theirs is a love literally born out of trials and tribulations. Skyward Sword’s Link is clearly in love with his Zelda, as is Wind Waker’s/Phantom Hourglass. Wheras BOTW link seemed to be playing with both Mipha and Zelda.

Link is certainly a lady's man. I blame Nintendo for that, but most games now a days have at least one other person infatuated with Link. He often is oblivious or not in to them like that, but there are those he does seem to have more of a connection with, although he usually shows the strongest with Zelda. Or, in Ocarina's case, he breaks everyone's heart by running of and dying in the Lost Woods with Epona after Majora. BOTW Link might have had a crush at first with Mipha, but it seems he moved passed it once he was with Zelda for long enough and they got to know each other. I think I could use the "heart breaker" Link concept for a story some time.

It would be fun if there was an alternate ending where Zrlda or Midna eats Link willingly at the end.
