"The kakuna was no challenge to devour, but it tasted a lot better than I imagined it would. I didn't expect for it to resist my acids so well, but it clearly remained stubborn and continued to harden. It stayed in my belly, stewing in my acids very slowly. It took about a full day after eating it for it to finally soften up."

I don't blame him, I'd stiffen up pretty well if I were in the same position

I'm almost positive that it has a poison barb on the end of its tail, wouldn't it use that?

Even if it did, lucarios are part steel type.

Any Kakuna that you encounter in the wild only have the Harden ability. To know Poison Sting, they've have to actually be leveled up from a Weedle, which is only if there was a trainer involved.

Question for Hilde the sexy Lucario, what do you think Kakuna look like out of their... cocoons? Since they're formerly a Caterpie trying to become a Beautifly.

umm, Kakuna is the evolution between Weedle and Beedril, the Pokémon your thinking of is Metapod.

Sorry, it's been a while since I played the first games and I've always mixed those two up. I dunno why.

Well, if kakuna and metapod are like real like insect cocoons, they pretty much are the cocoons. Inside there is initially nothing but a kind of controlled self digestion where the larval stage breaks up to near liquid state, then starts to reassemble to its next form.
Frankly, there is no way a being with anything like a sentience could go through the metamorphosis, since the entire nervous system gets broken apart and rebuilt based on the DNA.

But butterflies do remember being caterpillars. If they are trained to be afraid of a scent as caterpillars, the resulting butterflies will still be afraid of that scent. They remember, to some degree.

Ha! Kakuna, an annoying opponent in any situation. But it really is just a matter of outlasting 'em.

Don't worry, it'll ease up once it runs out of PP. Then it'll get fun when it's forced to use Struggle.

If Hildegard could channel her Aura into a Fire Aura, it would make things easier for her to digest that annoying Kakuna.
