Happy new years and all that, I ended up spending from 3AM to 5AM finishing the picture for this page so I apologise if it isn't that great. Some things to note is that the HP in the picture isn't updated since it takes place before the taken damage, Lyra's health is 74/100 now. Also, I actually drew her on this page starting from the sword! weirdly enough it worked out decently but please tell me how she turned out in this weird... pose... that came from this.
I guess to note; Try to avoid being stupidly specific when commenting, a lot of the fluff tends to be something I add in when I'm writing... so it's fairly unnecessary to consider things like the current state of the character. She is scared and inexperienced, it's not like she's going to perform an anime "teleport slash" where she suddenly appears behind someone and go "omae wa mo shindeiru" all of a sudden. No, she'll be clumsy and frightened.
Technically I can't stop ya'll from all the fluff, and it makes me happy to see people actually thinking about things (although worried at the same time). It'd just be helpful in deciphering yer comments if I could actually find the part that helps decide what happens, maybe keep the fluff separated in a different paragraph? Maybe? ;w;
Finally, I might want to ask someone for a sort of... "hud" I could use for HP and stuff on a transparent layer so I could just add it in whenever I need it. I'm not really good at that kind of stuff.

If the wolf wasn't weighed down I'd worry about him dodging, but since his belly is full, try an overhead swing aimed right at his forehead. It should daze him, if not knock him out completely.

I wonder if anyone would consider looking at the design for the old one's sword and think about unique ways it could be used. x3
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
Well, the blade itself is quite wide, and given the fact that it's unbreakable, I'd say it can be effectively used to block if need be.

I would agree with this, also the way the tip is shaped would make it tip heavy, meaning that it should be pretty good at chopping as well as parrying, though that last bit wouldn't be of much use against a wolf

Action: Overhead strike aimed at the wolf's head.
Dittoing what Rantroper said: steel yourself, and aim to whack the wolf on the head with the blunt part of your sword. We might have to go on the offense here, as I don't know if the wolf will fall for the same thing twice. The wolf is weighed down, and we are not; lets use that mobility to our advantage!

Unfortunately I don't really draw scary monsters, and I really simplified the design of the wolf which ended up making it look cute. This wolf is a serious threat that would definitely be a problem if it isn't dealt with, kinda try picturing the Great wolf from ARPG that pretty much blitzed Floria & Co until it got shrunken down.
Not really something you want running around freely when you're super weak. xwx

There is no Reviving for Lyra at this point, if she gurgles I'd likely have to either have to create some kind of limited life thing in that rewound time like I've seen in another interactive... or just outright end TRPG.
You can probably understand why I mentioned being able to escape the woof's gut if that happened.

Swap to the offensive.
We conked the wolf good so it should be kind of dazed, on top of our defensiveness up to now should catch it off guard if we drop our defense and focus on aggression.

Offer self as food, just look at that widdle face, how could you hurt the poor thing!
Joking aside, a blunt strike to the head should be good to knock it out, so basically what ran's already suggested.

Use it like a bat and smack the wolf in the head with the flat edge! :D more chance to hit with a wider blade, plus a KO'd woof is more fun.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
Once the wolf is KO'd, should we try and free whatever's in it's stomach?
Posted by Razgriz 6 years ago Report
That or use it like a sleeping bag. XP
So uh.
Sure we can poke and see if it's a person that needs to escape... Help them out if thats the case.
If not, plump dinner!
I wondered if we could tame wolfie to be our companion.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
I can't even begin to wonder how to tame a voracious wolf... Eat it then hork it back up to assert dominance?
Posted by Razgriz 6 years ago Report
Feed it food over thousands of years? XP

Was I being too specific befor? I'm sorry I'll try to cut back on that, I was just trying to be more detailed then just saying swing the sword and dodge I guess I might have gone overboard.
Point the swords tip towards the wolf then thrust it forwards aiming for its chest.
Is that better? Worse?
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
It probably wasn't just you matey, I got a few decently long ones where I spent minutes trying to figure out what was actually going on.
It's probably fine as long as the action is separated or highlighted somewhere.
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
Okay? I guess I'm just trying to figure out what the right ratio is, I'll try something new next page with a clear action then some fluff in a separate section and see how that turns out.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
I mean, the fluff is essentially how interested ya'll are in this. Usually anyway.

That's not a pat :U
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
It's an overeager pat. Maybe once the woof stops trying to chomp on us, we can give it nicer pats...

lower your sword and clutch at your bitten leg, fake it really hurt when the wolf attacks strike it with an upswing
Posted by Eboros 6 years ago Report
it's better for Lyra to make small low attacks to try to hit the wolf and protect her legs at the same time.
I don't think that making powerful attacks is the best solution if Lyra is not certain of touching it, because if she misses, it would give the wolf an excellent opportunity to jump on her.

Throw dagger at wolf.
Everyone's saying its fat and dazed, so it probably can't dodge, and its clearly better at close range than we are. I doubt we'll be able to use the dagger well in this fight up close, so lets use it for a one shot ranged attack, then go back to flailing around with the sword. I also like the idea of broadsiding the wolf with the sword like a bat.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
Yeet the dagger! If it hits, we get free damage, if it doesn't, it may distract the woof long enough for a proper hit!
Posted by TotallyRandom 6 years ago Report
Just submit. Our opponent is a woof, there is no hope of victory.
^^
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Maybe if it was a woof like tim.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
Depending on how TF works, its possible that if we win ajd eat the wolf, we'll become one in turn.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Eating this wolf won't immediately TF Lyra, but will open up the option for something later in a different area. I won't mention where to avoid people b-lining for it.
