I almost posted this without a picture as I wasn't able to draw, possibly due to my current mental and physical health. But I continued to force myself to draw so hopefully the picture didn't come out looking rather bad. Hopefully the joke about using the Relic like a baseball bat at least made someone chuckle.
So this page features "Deviation", essentially to get it out of the way early, but not really effect anything too major. Pretty much, Lyra will always try to follow any given suggestion as closely as she can and tends to only make small deviations if any if she is unable to perform a task directly. However she can grow fond of any given tactic if she repetitively performs it and may end up with a preference towards it which would visually take the form of a trait (again, traits are mostly there to keep track of any perks or changes on any given entity.)
So in this page, Lyra copied the same tactic she used in the previous update as she was too scared and inexperienced to do otherwise, which was to fight defensively and counter, which was her deviating from the idea to run up to the wolf and smack it in the face as though she were hitting a home run. Do not worry however as I won't be forcing her to deviate this much again, this was for tutorial reasons and I absolutely wanted to get it out of the way. Lyra will only officially grow fond of and adapt a particular style of fighting if she repetitively performs it multiple times over several encounters, and the trait will remain until it is either forcefully removed, she performs enough different actions to "change her main" or she becomes experienced enough to know not to become so attached and be adaptable.
Deviations this big can only occur in encounters, unless Lyra is under some kind of effect that makes her uncontrollable. Do not worry too much about it as it should rarely, if ever, be a problem... outside of developing bad habits/urges.
Urg, anyway, I'm trying to rush through tutorial stuff as quickly as possible since I personally hate them. Sorry if they're bothering people.

I have a discord server for the interactive which is slowly filling out~ Feel free to join if you want to potentially help out, or just talk. Whichever works: xzAuU5P (hopefully you can still use that to join)
However due to multiple bots invading the server I've had to set it that you need a role to type in the main chat, I'm hoping I don't have to do anything further but for now if you want to use chat you'll have to send me a message over discord first.

Just to note, Lyra's preference for defensive play has been reset. This was a one time thing where I forced her so don't worry about her doing this again without warning.
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
That's good but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up getting that prefrence again.
The baseball bat joke did ma me smirk a little. So, are you alright? What happened?
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
I had to call it "club" in the setting since it's mostly fantasy, not modern. But I originally had "baseball bat" written there.
And I think my Mental & Physical health is slipping due to personal circumstances, the bloody wet season heat and the leftover "December sickness" I get every year that I'm still contending with.
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
Yea that does suck, I'm sorry that there's not much more that I can say but I hope you feel better soon. Last year seemed to go by so fast too, I was bearly getting used to it and now it's already gone.
Is it like that muggy unbearble heat that makes it feel so much worse?
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Yep, Also I nearly died- if not could've easily gone blind & deaf around Christmas 2017 due to above mentioned "December Sickness". Really... really glad I got through that one.
But yeah, the heat really makes it so much worse. As a hint... I can't even sleep unless I'm dead tired and just pass out. So... I guess I can add "lack of sleep" or "problems in bed" to the list, although that really just falls under health.
Ugh.. anyway, I think I'm done talking about this. Got a bit too... yeah.

Eat the wolf, its prey and all, if this creature is hostile to humans it might be more worth it to just devour it along with the wolf
Posted by Rayen 6 years ago Report
>Flirt with the person inside the woof's belly
Or just ask them who they are before letting them out. V:

Seconded

Try to take the wolfs strange earring off then pull it's hind legs up and attempt to follow the odd urge to eat the wolf.
Rub the wolfs belly as we do so, kneading it's soft fur covered flesh as our lips slowly inch up it's hind legs and it's legs slide down our throat a bit more with every swallow.
Alternatively we could try tame the wolf, pat it rub it's stomach as it digests and all that. But I'd more like to hear what others have to say on that before suggesting it. I assume trying to save whoever is in the wolfs stomach will be more popular.

Talk to the person inside, ask them there name who they are and why they put that condition of 'not being human'. Depending on how they react, we can tell them that we are human, if they don't seem to have an issue with humans, then let them out and eat the wolf, but if they seem to have an issue with humans just start swallowing the wolf without saying anymore, then we can tease them about getting eaten by a human after the wolf is in our belly.

well just to clarify if we do let whoever that anti-human is(though it might be just prejudice and we can befriend them as we have no enemies to make, and only info to gain), the wolf will be mobile again, might get us a round 2 of fighting unless it flees...
plus if he is somewhat domestic than he was used to find the food littering the forest and berries, someone's a bad houndmaster to make him want to flee his owners...
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
The wolf has 3 HP left, which is easily enough to be considered defeated. The belly is just adding insult to injury. Literally.

> Ask about the wolfs earring.
> Ask who/what the person is inside.
> Tell them you're not putting your hand inside a biting wolf, how do they think you'll help them escape?
if you dont like the answers, two for one special~

Ask about their comment about humans, tell them you are human after you see how they react, and how they expect you to get them out if they dont respond rudely, then eat the wolf if they were rude
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
It's funny because two comments up is someone saying "Not gonna reach in and pull ya out" x3
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Someone still wants Lyra to get ate. o3o
Posted by Eboros 6 years ago Report
Lyra should ask him what the problem is with humans, to know if it's a good idea to help him or not.
and if we can trust him, then, once we have managed to get him out, show him the ring and see if he knows anything about it, and if it could be related to the strange behavior of the wolf.

Ask the belly stuffing her name, ask if she's nice, then release her. Claim the earring afterwards. Then eat the wolf and snuggle the belly stuffing.

Huh, I get two comments assuming the meal's gender back to back. x3
Neat.

Attempt to free whomever is trapped in the stomach, letting them know the wolf is not in any position to fight back, guiding them up the throat possibly? For the wolf, resist the strange urge and try to see if you can see what's causing it to be this aggressive, I'd wager on it being the tag/item in its ear. Then, if whatever made it oddly hostile to everything is taken care of, let it be on its way, maybe making sure it's not too banged up.

Seconded

I've been struggling with mental health stuff as well; I know it's cliche, but hang in there! It will get better, and I wish nothing but the best for you. <3
ACTION: Resist the urge to eat this delicious wolf... for now. Ensure Wolf is unconscious, investigate the content's of is stomach, try and get the wolf to hork them up.
FLUFF: Make sure the wolf is unconscious first, we don't want it getting back up while we're this close to it! Ask the wolf's belly what happened, and about the anti-human comment. As for getting the creature out of the stomach... try pushing on the wolf's stomach so as to try and force the person out. If that doesn't work, try sticking your arm down it's throat and pulling them out that way. After the wolf's stomach is empty, refrain from eating it quite yet; we still have to investigate the strange tag on its ear. Using this powerful artifact as a simple bludgeon is indeed hilarious to me, and it's former user probably wouldn't get a kick out of it. Given that the sword is dull and unpowered, though, it really is the most effective way to use it. Also, given that the blade itself is unbreakable, using it to block is another effective use for it. I like the idea of Lyra playing defensively, and I wholeheartedly encourage it!

I'm a bit on the fence for this, I do kind of like it but it kind of clashes with my own comment. But the more I think about it in the end though it actually goes pretty well with how I kind of want to see if we can tame the wolf.
Seconded, especially the sticking our arm in the wolf to get whoever it is out part. Yea I know that's technically just a back up option.
If I can't second something and have my own suggestion then disregard my suggestion unless the next update is already being worked on then just ignore this.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
I have no idea how we'd go about taming it, tho. Maybe eating it then horking it back up to establish dominance?
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
That might work, there's no harm in trying it. We could also try feeding it and make sure it's not hungry, or make some sort of makeshift collar and leash.
Posted by Jamesbrid 6 years ago Report
Take the tag off the wolfs ear and examine it, rub the wolfs belly and check it's gender we have been calling it the wolf, figure out a name.
Tie some vines around the wolf so when its conscious it cant attack.
Ponder what the victum means by shrank and feel insulted they hate humans. (ate me wh-while I was all small)
Posted by Jamesbrid 6 years ago Report
Reasons to eat wolf: fill belly, save this area, vore and other things
Reasons not to eat: possible ally, fat with no defense, debuff to swallow, other things
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
I do kinda like the idea of trying to tame the wolf, and I guess we should check what it's gender is if for no other reason then to make referring to it easier.
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
So, rereading the update again, I feel its necessary to point out that whoever's in the wolf's gut does *NOT* hate humans, just that they have something cool to show non-humans. Just wanted to point that out before we go eating them, too!
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
Shhhh, you're not meant to stay that out loud. Let the misunderstanding stay that way for the week. x3
Posted by Kartomic 6 years ago Report
Oh dang. :o
Posted by JScofi 6 years ago Report
everyone's thinking too small. Inform the meal that you will let them out only if they agree to a life-debt of servitude, if they agree, use the dagger to gut the wolf (no reaching in the maw that way). Then eat the wolf. It attacked us, no mercy.
Also, claim the earring before devouring it.
Posted by JScofi 6 years ago Report
as for the tutorial, you might be trying to rush through it, but its good that you're still doing it. there are many firsts that need to be seen to get a sense of how your game will work.
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
So you're just assuming that they will agree to be a slave? With no alternative for if they say no that's what I have to assume. Also gutting the wolf is a terrible idea, we could very easily end up cutting or stabbing whoever is in there and after that eating a disemboweled wolf is just an incredibly unpleasant thought.
Posted by AwokenedWispKP 6 years ago Report
I think there's actually a grim version of I think... either little red riding hood or the wolf and I think... 12 lambs? where the wolf gets cut open but the critters inside got cut too.
Although the version here Lil red kills and skins the wolf, and later in the Three pigs, (which I think was actually reversed where the Pigs were bothering the wolf), the pigs hire Lil red to hunt the wolf and she not only gets another wolf pelt but also some pig skin handbags as well.
Not sure where I was going with this.
Posted by jjlava 6 years ago Report
I think it might have been nine lambs I'm not really sure though, but that doesn't really matter. It sounds like the fairytales you've heard are a bit more interesting then the ones I got to hear as a kid.
As for where you were going I not sure either, who knows it could be as outlandish as carrying the wolf around like a handbag by tying it's front and back legs together and using them as a strap. We could use a bag after all.
