Thebe's crew got pranked into razing a whole realm for centuries. Truly the most ebic of memes

Genies are master tricksters, but I'm not sure he'll be able to trick Lauren into not killing him once she's done with Thebe.

Assuming she gets the chance

Wow, she is going to hate thebe because of a deal with a dijinn. He could have told them anything to believe or made them feel or think anything to believe that this realm was fake. And of all people, lauren doesn't have the right about shit since she has definitely gotten rid of more people than even thebe ever has, and never even tried to help some of them.

Lauren's not necessarily a good person. She just happens to be the one the story is centered around. She can do good things, but at the end of the day, all she really cares about is the people she's closest to, all of whom basically forced Lauren to like them. Her attitude can change, however, if she puts her mind to changing.

Neutral Evil in a nutshell. :3

Ehh, I don't really subscribe to the alignment system. People and characters are more complicated than that. The alignment system has never sat right with me. It encourages flanderization both by the creator of the character and in the minds of the audience.

Understandable. I use it less so as a strict guideline, but as it should be. As a generalization of the usual alignment that one portrays. So an "Evil" person, could still do good things, it's simply their prerogative to do so.

While I agree justice certainly doesn't belong among Lauren's spheres, I cannot take "I thought it was fake" as an excuse for Thebe, whether it would have changed her behavior or not. Result is more important to me than action, and some form of justice is merited. While I loathe punitive justice, it's not wholly unjustified here, as the punishment overlaps with preventative justice. Thebe strikes me as susceptible to sunken costs; I think it's too late for the reveal it was all real to change her behavior.

...One day, perhaps, all the video game NPCs I've abused, murdered, and devoured will demand their retribution. I will try not to protest.

Damn this website's lack of a comment editing function.

I'm not sure if you address it later or in other material, but what happened to the "soul" of the girl that Lauren's body belongs to? Like, was she erased and replaced by Lauren, forced into some sort of coma, did she combine with Greci to become "Lauren"?

Lauren's body is Lauren's body and always has been. When the cultists bound her to one, it just so happened that she already had a human form, not that they could have known.
