Mwee have the best medical tech in the setting. They've invested a lot of time and money into transporter-based reformation since they really like to eat people but aren't keen on killing them. 83
Depends on the situation. Non-mwee crew on their starships and mwee employees in general are usually willing prey and remember everything. In other situations they have to keep it on the down low and erase memories.
Having read a little bit about the mwee reformation technology I can't help but wonder if Adja adjusted "my" mindset just a nodge to ensure "I" stay calm as I realize "I" am fading away... and also to focus more on... erm... primal desires so that too much thinking doesn't come into the way of enjoying the moment. It sounds like a thing Mwees would do...
Honestly I just love that Mwees already know their preys in and out, their prey's secret desires and their secret swooning for mwees. It is like Mwees are always a step ahead and know exactly where and how the situation ends. It is a quality you can only admire about a good dominant. <3
I love a great many of your pred creations. But the mwees with their power, superority and gentle nature are just mindblowing... again... and again... and again... I think I need to check their ads if they have use for a botanist... The funding for the swamp research studies on carnivorous plants has long run out, anyways. So... why not seek a career with a new employer?
Mwee are all about body mods. Even vanilla swallowing whole of a man-sized creature takes a mod and UB and CV take multiple mods. Painless digestion is high on the list of mods practically all mwee get and it's certainly in their ballpark to have bodily fluids that enhance prey behavior they enjoy. It's pointless to have prey stress out when they are going to be reformed anyway and most mwee aren't into violently struggling prey.
Mwee don't eat just everybody, or it's more proper to say they don't eat the same person randomly unless they are considering hiring them, at which point the prey will be allowed to remember its experiences. Adja is considering offering "you" a job just as she did with the man in the Spaceport series.
Many Commonwealth officials know exactly what is going on with the mwee but a strong independent trade network is very useful and in a society with over six thousand species there are weirder things going on than liking to (relatively) harmlessly eat people.
A lot of the aliens in this sound pretty interesting and cool :o ngl I'd love to see more stuff with some of the less mammalianish ones like the Trisstan or Xsir or such sometime o.o
They've all gotten drawn at one time or the other except the xsir. The xsir are a semi-hive-mind race (the more that are in direct contact the smarter they get, an individual one is pretty dull). They are the most populous of all Commonwealth races and one of the three founding races, the other two being trisstans and hestans, the latter of whom who suffered very heavily in the Great War and are much less prominent these days.
Oh, well I'll have to go check around then and see ^^ also, a hive mind species being one of the founders is pretty unique imo, usually those sorta things are -in my experience from what I've watched/read, shoved off to be either a "barbaric bloodthirsty enemy that exists solely to send horde after horde of themselves out just for them to get mowed down" or "outlier allies who are kept to the more fringe stuff the Galaxy at large doesn't wanna work on, and are barely tolerated at best." Is what happened to the Hestans described in one of your works here too?
The xsir are brutally pragmatic and not everyone likes them, but they aren’t like the Arachnids form Starfire who ate everyone they beat. Most people accept that you need a dispassionate hand at the tiller when you are making the really big decisions and that is,one reason they are the "most equal of equals" in the Commonwealth.
What happened to them Hestans is mentioned in this story: https://aryion.com/g4/view/350845 basically the Enemy made the Hestan core worlds the focus of one of their main offensives and while they were eventually beaten back, the hestans suffered such massive casualties that after they are a shadow of their former selves.

Instant Reformation Tech. Stuff happens, then suddenly it "didn't" and you're just doing your job. Aliens have some GREAT stuff.

My fave kinda pred. The kind I can feed repeatedly. Can I remember what happened after reforming?

Would a written agreement to keep the situation personal work?

Again, depends on the situation and how illegal eating people is where it happens.
