Hello and Welcome to the true beginning of DUNGEON MASTER!!! Our first Boss Monster and dungeon have been decided by you, the voting public! Come take a look at exactly what you asked for!
I learned a lot from the last time I attempted an interactive story, and I've included much less back ground jargon in this one. If you want a bit more flavour text on the monsters or adventurers, head over to my forum post about the interactive, which has a listing of all the rules each chapter is governed by!
https://aryion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=56764
Additionally, I'm fairly quick to answer any questions in the comments, or if you want to talk about something, including my other works, feel free to send me a message on Discord or visit my private room on the Ink and Quill discord server, which is accessible through the main Eka's discord. Thanks for reading!
Voting for this chapter is now closed. Thanks again for reading and maybe check if there's another chapter or book to vote on!

For sending gold, option d
For tbe souls, all for the dragon
For new monsters, option B
For the story mission, wait for the next chapter

Loving this so far. I would suggest you keep voting on Ekas, as putting it elsewhere would reduce audience engagement, even though it would be more convienent for me.
For the vote:
Gold Gained - A, Upgrade Laundry Chute
Souls Captured - 4x on Mudster
Reputation Gained - B, Lamia & Mudster
Story Question - Yes, newly summoned Mudster
Misc Question - See above, keep on Ekas
So, if our monsters get enough souls, will they turn from monsters to monster girls? (Or stay monsters?)
Dragon girl, you need to slow down on your eating. Take your time to enjoy your first meal and really use that tongue to work the flavor out of every little nook and cranny rather than eating so quick you dont taste it at all! I swaer, its like her mother never taught her manners and how to be a pred. If the food isnt begging to go down your throat by the time you are done, you are doing it wrong. :p

Bah, typos I only see after posting...
Posted by Arthotus 5 years ago Report
Ah, I suppose I should have put a 'few' more rules into the chapter. Common Monsters can only 'evolve' once and it only takes two souls for a first time enhancement.
Some monsters might evolve into monster girls, but many will simply be more powerful monsters.
I'll definitely focus a bit more on the vore in upcoming chapters. For this one I was focused on getting the mechanics to work. I realize now it might have been a bit dry on the smut/vore side of things.
Posted by TuckingFypo 5 years ago Report
In that case, 2x to Mudster and 2x to Shadow.
Thanks for quick response.

A. Upgrade the Laundry Chute in Room Two. This'll be good for splitting parties and forcing the others to remain and search for them. (coin flipped decision between this and basic armor.)
Give the Ranger and Fighter to the Mudster for a job "Meh" done. Dragon boss should keep the Scholar and Brawler to beef up a bit.
C. Recruit: Minotaur & Sand Worm
Sure, send the Shadow beast out to look for the displaced daughter.
I prefer comments personally.
Can the vore scenes be a bit more expanded upon in future updates?
Posted by Arthotus 5 years ago Report
Yes, absolutely. I was mainly focused on getting the nuts and bolts of this chapter, but now that I've got the first finished, I'll put more effort into the more sexy parts of the story.
Posted by Persona59523 5 years ago Report
Though it appears that the new mudster might search for the daughter, the trap would be upgraded, the souls divided between the old mudster and the boss, and we get a Lamia on our team.
Posted by AlphaApex 5 years ago Report
Definitely really interesting. I wasn't quite expecting as much plot as there was, but I quite liked it.
For spending gold, A seems to be the best option for right now. The chute was incredibly effective in separating the party and even if it'll be less effective against multiple parties entering at once, or a very large party, surely things won't ramp up that quickly in chapter 2...
For spending souls, personally I want to protect the boss monster as much as possible. Cretia should get at least 2 of the souls, if not 3. The other soul should probably go to the mudster, as long as making it more powerful will make it more likely to trap its opponents. Since the mudster doesn't rely on damage, and instead relies on capturing and then quickly digesting its opponents, it needs to be more reliable to handle multiple opponents at once.
For reputation, C seems like the best option. The minotaur might come with a weapon and a good chunk of HP, allowing it to more easily brawl against multiple opponents, while the sand worm might have an ambush ability, which could be very useful. Especially if the chute is upgraded and the adventurers are getting separated often.
Yes, the shadow beast should be sent to find Cretia's daughter. The shadow beast wasn't all that useful, and who knows what sort of bonuses having Cretia's daughter will provide? If she's found, of course.
While I enjoy writing long explanations (and speculations on how things might work) on why I'm picking certain options, I think that it would be more convenient to have a strawpoll where I can just vote on an option. Plus, it'll be easier for you to figure out the majority.
Posted by Arthotus 5 years ago Report
Compared with actually writing a chapter, sorting out votes takes no time at all.
Thank you for the compliment!
For the monster speculation, check out my forum post on this game. The link to it is in the description. I've listed the 25 'starter' monsters and their stats and abilities. More will be 'discovered' as the game continues, but for now, that's the pool of monsters that is being drawn from for options.
For upgrading a monster with souls, the tough part for you, the audience, is that I'm purposefully not telling you HOW the monster will improve, only that it will. Once a monster has been enhanced, I'll list that information in the aforementioned forum post, but the first time is a mystery!
Posted by AlphaApex 5 years ago Report
If you say so. I certainly don't mind commenting my votes.
Ah, now I see the monster list. I was just speculating, but now I see that although I wasn't completely correct, I wasn't too far off. Sand blast still seems like a useful ability and the minotaur is very beefy with a powerful attack as well (though a 20% miss rate is definitely a drawback). I stand by my decision on C.
I see, that's definitely a very interesting concept. In that case, we should be even more careful with the souls. The mudster did well and should be rewarded, and if it so happens to become more reliable, then it's souls well spent.

Gold: A. Upgrade Laundry shute
Souls: Give them to whoever killed the adventurers: Ranger Sou to mudster and the rest to Creita
New monsters: B. Lamia and Mudster
Story Mission: Send Shadow beast to deliver mail.
Misc.: While a voting site might be easier, I would prefer collecting the comments, so that reasoning can be displayed.

Options: D, armor for our minions. Make them work for their housing.
Souls: Ranger & Brawler for Mudster, Fighter & Scholar for Cretia. Mudster earned a snack.
Recruit: Lamia & Mudster. Crowd Control is always important.
Story: Wait. Let's make sure we've got some defenses first.
Misc: Vote via comments because we can add more information or make alternate suggestions as well.

Pretty good start. Like I said before, my strategy is monsters all the way, so not many of the options for the use of gold are really something I care about.
If it were an option, I'd have swapped a Chute with the Roof Collapse in the room right before the boss so we can separate parties before they go into the boss room. The Chute trap works pretty well, but it'd be a lot better if it was like the trap in the game that sends them to a specific room. I do like the one that sends them to the first room.
As it is, my choices, if it were the game, would likely be as follows:
Gold: D/E
Upgrade: Mudster and Dark Beast (for the double upgrade)
Recruit: Lamia and Mudster, because the Lamia sounds fun, and the Mudster was pretty useful. I'd also think about the Minotaur and the Sand Worm, since a Minotaur is pretty good, and a Sand Worm is usually very strong in games.
Story: Send Dark Beast to look for the daughter, with it's ability to hide in the darkness, it should be pretty able to search for her without being noticed. It also was the most useless in combat.
Miscelaneous: I'm fine either way. I prefer comments since it lets me give my opinion so others can understand and perhaps figure out a better option.
And those are my thoughts.

Gold: A: Upgrade the laundry chute. It made sure that every adventurer could be picked off one by one.
Souls: 2 for the mudster, 2 for Cretia.
Reputation: B: Lamia and Mudster. Adding two CC monsters may be useful when more parties come at once. Also having a monster with half human appearence might help with a bit more interaction both with other monsters (only Cretia atm) as well as with the adventurers.
Story: I vote against sending a letter right now, simply to avoid adding a potential source of drama/betrayal. Also having too many high value monsters may influence hero selection. Chapter 2, dragon daughter arrives, chapter 3, 12 dragon slayers arrive. Is big problem.
Misc: I'm good with either option, but having a strawpoll in addition to Eka's will make people unwilling to post or unable (no account?) to post able to vote atleast.
Good chapter, but as several people have mentioned, light on the vore side of things. But as you've mentioned the next chapters will focus more on the vore/smut parts...
The wait begins anew.
Oh also, what options won the prologue? Obviously dragon and castle, but what else?
Posted by Arthotus 5 years ago Report
Hmmm, I suppose I never explicitely stated the winners huh? Well just for you, because you asked; Dragon, Commander, Female, Oral and Sexual, Ruined Castle, Sirens Conch. Don't tell anyone ok? Also, before anyone gets mad that Cretia didn't use the conch on the adventurers this chapter, relax, shes not going to go overboard on newbies. Same reason you didn't see her flame breath.

I may or may not have added up the votes to have figured that one out XD

GOLD:
A. Upgrade the Laundry Chute in Room Two.
SOULS:
Give the Ranger & Fighter to the Mudster, and the Scholar & Brawler to Cretia.
NEW MONSTERS:
C. Recruit: Minotaur & Sand Worm
STORY QUESTIONS:
Send the Shadow Beast to find her, since as mentioned already it seems pretty useless in combat anyway.
MISCELLANEOUS QUESTIONS:
I'm not particularly fussed either way. While a Strawpoll would be easier to manage (Might be more necessary if the series gets a lot of interest & comments) I do also like being able to break down our answers in more detail/justify them in the comments.
Really liking this format so far! As mentioned by a few others I am looking forward to seeing some more detail in the vore content in the next few chapters, and I think the mix of story to 'gameplay' is pretty much perfect here.
One question I did have, which you may have already answered somewhere but I wasn't able to find it - What are your plans when it comes to additional elements of vore beyond just the 'Oral & Sexual' that won the vote? More specifically, would you be open to including things like hard vore, digestion & Disposal/Post-Vore Scat? I understand if you don't want to do these things, I just haven't seen an answer given about it. Personally I'd really like to see some kind of Disposal/Post-Vore Scat worked in, but that's just my personal preference. Either way, keep it up!
Posted by Arthotus 5 years ago Report
Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
To answer your question, I won't be doing most of what you mentioned. While I know there are a lot of people who might enjoy a broader range of vore types, I tend to fizzle out when I'm writing for the parts of this fetish I'm not terribly interested in. Hard Vore and Explicit Disposal are not in my preferences. Pregnant and young prey also aren't really going to appear.
However, I will try and touch on a broader range of fetishes within the things I do like. Oral Vore will obviously be over represented, simply because monsters eating adventurers is easy, but absorption, digestion, anal vore, cock vore, breast and cleavage vore, soul vore, blood sucking, and more will all be covered at some point, I'm sure. I'd love to please more people, but as I'm really just doing this for fun, the first person that must enjoy this is me, so we'll stick to my fetishes.
Posted by VigorousJazzHands 5 years ago Report
Fair enough, most important thing is that you're enjoying what you're writing. I look forward to seeing the series develop!

Nice! I liked it.
votes:
1) A. Upgrade the Laundry Chute in Room Two.
2) Give two souls to the Mudster and two the Dragon Boss
3) B. Recruit Lamia & Mudster
4) Yes, send the shadow beast
5) I like reading other people's takes on things, which they can explain in their comments. But really its up to you, whatever's easiest!

First off, I think we should save the gold. The monsters are all going to respawn anyway, and nothing we're going to face in the next wave will be able to do much to us.
I think the mudster's earned a soul, from killing that ranger. The rest should go to the horned lizard, maybe if we feed it enough it'll turn into something more useful.
For the monsters, I'm trying to decide between the Lamia and Mudster or the Salamander and Dire Wolf. On the one hand, the Mudsters have already proved themselves and a Lamia would be good to have. On the other, two new creature types. Another thing to consider is whether this is the sad, squishy pond salamander or the big fiery D&D salamander. If it's the former, I'm gonna say we choose the Lamia and Mudster. If it's the latter, I'm gonna go with the Salamander and Dire Wolf.
I think Cretia should send out the Shadow Beast to find her daughter. It's going to be real sneaky-like, and the Mudster isn't.
I like the idea of using strawpoll, it would make it easier to manage the votes and you could more easily see which options are winning.
Posted by SirScotty 5 years ago Report
1) Gold: E, save it.
2) Souls: Cretia should use all four souls on herself.
3) Reputation: D, Salamander and Dire Wolf.
Story: Yes, send the Shadow Beast.
Posted by Jackolyn 5 years ago Report
E, Mudster get his Ranger soul, save reputation for now, no to sending a monster to find her daughter, and I do want you to try out Straw poll just to see how it will impact the number of votes.
Posted by aethirshero 5 years ago Report
Great first chapter, really interested in seeing how this develops. A little light on the vore/lewds for me, but I already see that you're planning on increasing that. :P
For votes... For the gold, I think A. The laundry chute was the MVP here, and will make small parties trivial.
1 Soul to both Mudster and Great Horned Lizard, the remainder to Cretia.
Recruitment option B! Gotta get that lamia. :3
Let's send the Shadow Beast out to find Cretia's daughter. Getting some sort of closure is better than nothing.
As for the votes... With the sheer amount of options with each vote, I find it hard to think that Strawpoll will work that well. Plus, in the comments, it lets people give rationales for their choices, and fosters discussion.

Really nicely done on the background story for Cretia. I think this story was a good mix of gameplay and story.
