From my understanding, the two are different species. Ara's isn't one that does the human-lamia unbirth transformation, and on top of that, she refers to Suri as sliding down her "gullet," which, in my mind, implies that she is, in fact, eating the girl.
Or maybe I'm the one overthinking this :)
It's kind of hard to tell when their anatomy is so different to what we expect.

You got it!! Perhaps I should have done a little better job explaining things, but I'll see what I can do towards the end!
If you go all the way back to Seeks Innocent Traveler, https://aryion.com/g4/view/269913 you'll see that Ara can hold people inside her stomach for quite a while. And yes, for all intent, Ara is eating her.
Suri on the other hands, (hehe) is capable of taking and transforming someone, however this can only happen a few times in her life, so they have to be ready for it.

So how long will Suri be in Ara’s second stomach before she’s let out? I would like to see her going out to buy food and beginning to develop weird cravings (like the classic ice cream and pickles) sooner or later (sooner is some time this year and later is some time this decade).

you bring up a very good point. So she can't eat while Suri's in there. So she'll only be in there about as long as can be before hunger, and biology kicks in.

That's understandable.
Jaku referred to it as such because these lamias have slightly different anatomy to what we're used to. The opening on her crotch has at least two channels — one leading to her stomach, and another to her uterus (or equivalent) and womb.
Hope I cleared that bit of confusion up!
