I wanted to draw something for mother's day this year, but I also wanted to experiment with how rendering, shading, and composition could play into the vibe and mood of a drawing/piece.

SO Heres my interpretation of a mother's day pic lmao. A bit late.

Tried to set a tone of insidiousness and/or suspense.

This would be a GREAT film. Picture it:

The boy has a friend over to spend the night, who goes to the bathroom and never comes back. He goes out and looks for him, and finds him just in time to see his kicking feet vanish down his mother's gullet. Terrified, he runs from family member to family member trying to get help, but Mom eats them one after another. After an extended game of cat and mouse (pictured above), he manages to get outside and find a policeman...who immediately brings him right back home to Mom.

The end shot is the officer walking away, feeling pretty good about a job well done. Behind him, thru a window, we see a very clear silhouette of Mom finishing her meal.

Sounds like a wonderful mothers day to me. The mood feels tense but almost seductive in some way as she comes in naked with a full gut. I assume her son would have little defense against being devoured by her in both physical strength and mental capacity
