Name: Mar

Bio: Mar is a middle-aged Tanuki (which, thanks to his supernatural origins, means he is VERY old.) He is utterly fascinated with new experiences, though he usually prefers to spectate rather than join in. He never leaves home without a pad and pen. He will take every opportunity to scribble down what he sees, always hoping he will find something worthy of sharing with others via his occupation as a storyteller. Mar will happily regale people with long, detailed stories of his many travels if asked, and will trade stories for money, food, favors, or simply the joy of telling.

As a supernatural creature, he has some limited control over his physical form and spellcasting power—though whatever form he takes usually remains somewhat chubby and with a tanuki tail and ears. His travels and searches for strange new things to observe have often swept him up in whatever shenanigans he was hoping to chronicle. His mystical nature makes him capable of being on either side of a pred/prey relationship and in almost any capacity. In the rare instance that he befalls serious mishap that would kill a normal creature, he’ll pop back into being as his old self after a day or so. He restores himself by climbing out of the nearest book.

He rarely seeks out salacious escapades, but he is easily flustered and seduced. His ears and tail are, in particular, very sensitive. Tugging, stroking, or sucking on one or the other for long enough is usually sufficient to get him to forget his distaste for joining into the festivities. He can also be lured with the promise of a good story, and will go so far as to effectively promise a “wish” to anyone who can present him with something suitably worthy of being immortalized in his pad. These wishes are limited in scope, as his mystic powers are weak. They are usually achieved either by him taking on a shape they desire and engaging in some sort of activity with them or for them. Alternately, he is capable of granting others a brief shape change of their own. In the most extreme cases, he is able to briefly conjure physical manifestations of characters/creatures from his writings, but he can only maintain them within the room they were conjured and only for a short time. Once he has promised a wish, he will make an earnest attempt to bring about the desired effect through whatever means necessary.

He is extremely reliant upon his glasses and is terribly prone to losing them.
