You mind my asking how many layers this is? I’ve been working on my internals and this sketch is very instructive. But I’m just blown away by how well she sits into the flesh of the belly, how the lines of her right foot are distorted by seeing it through the surface in a different manner than is her left foot seen through the juices through the cross section. So I’m just curious what’s on top of what. Lol.
If you don’t feel like talking through it, that’s fine.

Outstanding work as usual!

Well I usually do like, anywhere from 2-10 layers for my roughing process which is where I get all the shapes n stuff down. For sketches in particular, for some reason, I do on two layers, one for the faces and one for the rest of the objects in the scene. Effects work like wetness, steam, and emotion icons are separated out to their own layers, etc.

Of course you can always subscribe at the $10 tier to get access to PSD versions of my work files, which will show the layer layout a lot better than I could ever explain it lol

Hmm, that’s actually an excellent idea (and a fine sales pitch!) ;) I’m bound to learn more from that than staring at your sketches and trying to imagine your process. Lol. Kinda like paying for a tutorial. Thanks for the advice you were able to offer here!
