“It's completely ridiculous,” Calypso muttered as she stuffed more buttered popcorn into her maw, stray kernels littering her shirt. “At first it was convenient to have Netflix and crap, but now they want us to pay for like, fifteen freakin' streaming services. What am I, made out of money?”

Marie clutched her hot tea a little closer, her gaze naturally lowering to the stomach of the dragongirl. “Does Beatrice like popcorn?” the human asked.

“No, actually.” Calypso lowered a hand to rest on her princess-fulled belly. “She doesn't like how the kernels get stuck in her teeth.”

Do you remember these two? You'd be forgiven if you've forgotten, considering it's been a full year since their last real appearance. >.>;

Nevertheless, here is Calypso and Marie in all of their glory, illustrated by the amazingly talented

willudie. As always, I'm incredibly grateful and I think it turned out amazing. It looks like Marie is still recovering from the events of The Foxgirl Next Door, but luckily her draconic neighbor is taking care of her. What better way to wind down than with a movie night? Beatrice might have a hard time hearing over the sounds of an active belly, but then again, they don't make movies in her language anyways.

I hope the creation of this image provides more tangible evidence that this series is not in fact dead! I promise I'm still working on the next part, and I have enough ideas stewing in my head for many more parts after that. It's writing them down that's the hard part, as always. The motivation well has been running dry, but it seems to be coming back and I'm making a lot more progress. I've also been considering re-writing the first two chapters, since my writing skills have obviously improved within the span of a year, but I think that's a conversation and project for another time. Right now, I'll just keep working on continuing the story I've started so far.

The sounds of digesting food are definitely music to my ears, too. <3 All that popcorn must be pretty noisy as it sloshes around and melts into buttery soup...

Awwwwwww, I love them so much! I wish Beatrice had some entertainment in her native language, I bet she'd love audiobooks.

As far as rewriting the first two chapters, I'd say that you should do what you want to do, but with the note that if you do that too much, you might be remaking things more than you actually make things, if that makes any sense.

Also I'm very excited for the next chapter of the Monstergirl Next Door :>

And you're right, that's good advice. I already have a hard enough time writing down new material as is!! Don't worry, I know you and many other people are eagerly awaiting the next part. Heck, I'm eagerly awaiting it myself. Let the words flow!!

Haha, thanks! As long as you work hard on it, and keep at it consistently, I'll be happy. (Not that I'm one to talk, considering my own struggles with consistency.)

Haha, thanks. I've missed my best case scenario goal of Valentine's Day already, but I'm feeling pretty confident that I can get it done before the end of the month.

And then after that, I have something Elden Ring related that's been cooking too...

I guess we'll see as their story goes on. Thought it seems clear Calypso has no intent of letting Beatrice see the sun again. Though, Beatrice seems fine with it too~

It's been said already, but the facial expressions here are excellent.

On another note, I noticed Calypso's design is a bit different from the earlier reference image. Out of curiosity, is this just character evolution or is this closer to what you originally had in mind?

I would say that this is closer to what I had in mind! Character design is a lot harder than it seems, and it's doubly hard to pull images out of your imagination, and relay that information to an artist who operates as a third party (i.e, they unfortunately can't read my mind.) So over time, Calypso's representation in my brain grew more clear, and I relayed that new information to willudie, who did a great job with it.

Willudie is absolutely amazing. The way they produced the initial sketch after just my brief description floored me, it looked pretty much perfect on the very first try.
