What comic are you reading?

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeathOfPersonality
For many, the loss of one's self can be an even worse fate then death. Now, what the Wafflings perform is not full on brainwashing, but their minds can be taken against them if they are not careful, like how Hanz nearly was a puppet. So, I still certainly don't see Waffle's Empire as the "good guys". But, at the same time, neither is humanity, at least not as a whole for sure.

Why do people still think the humans in waffles domain and the wafflings are being brainwashed??? We have seen *no* proof of that. Waffle even just did a mindrape with her wierd internal womb fuck, and that man, despite being totally at waffles mercy, *still retained his personality*. Stiener, despite literally being turned to milk and swallowed by Nudel, *still saved Frisk*.
No one is being forced to do anything via magical, personality-erasing brainwashing. Its Just regular old societal norm brainwashing!

Um... take it easy, yo... it's just their own interpretation of how their seeing the change either by some sort of unforeseen force, or the like.
I mean, first you say their "people still think" they're all being brainwashed and stating no proof of such, but than turn around and say it's "just regular old societal norm brainwashing..."
Last I check, brainwashing of any kind IS brainwashing.
But, I do agree with you... that the culture of the waffleverse, where those humans live will see things MUCH different than those outside, that's just usually how it is given the perspective.
But, we don't know the full scope of any unforeseen force causing the mental change, Hans and those touched and not changing, could have a much stronger mind/conviction and not allowing themselves to be brainwashed... who knows...
In the end, I'm sure there is some leeway as far how one interprets the goings on. And I use conviction boldly, given Hans and Stiener's actions after the fact.

Dude what you just said was an example of them trying to mentally break their enemies. Not everyone is as mentally strong as them so if basically any normal person went through that they would probably be completely broken afterwards.

It kinda alters their entire being and body, so i wouldn't put it past waffle to also alter the minds of all her subjects to make them like their new forms regardless. Ala Nurgle and chaos lord type of deal

Even Hanz was like “i am a waffling and i must scream for i am horrible” and then *instantly betrayed waffle*. She thought the allure of power would be enough to control him, and when it wasnt, she just punished him. Again, hes been totally at her mercy, been bubblegum chewed up and spat out, and yet she never brainwashed him!

Ohh, well if it is just capturing. It’s not like they want to be captured. The human characters at least.

First impressions are hard to shake. I keep thinking back to that butcher creature who turned a guy into a new cock before they cut him off.
Posted by Modeseven 3 years ago Report
That was symbiosis, not killing.
Posted by ArsonAverage 3 years ago Report
That is arguably far worse then death
Posted by Zaftiger 3 years ago Report
I think the big difference is consent. Lots of these entities aren’t asking if they are cool with joining the horde, they’re doing it by force. That might be a point you’re making.

Thats actually the cool part : the wafflings rarely aim to kill. But their methods are so alien and frightening, the Sorcerers see capture as a death sentence, and compromise as abandoning humanity.
Posted by Shadie 3 years ago Report
I mean, they aren't killing anyone, but they are undeniably raping them. Nobody on either side is being particularly respectful of the rights of those on the other side. That's war, though.
Posted by AGESEater 3 years ago Report
Deffo not denying the scale of the mental anguish here. Even if its not literal rape, several of the wafflings are taking sexual pleasure at the expense of nonconsenting humans.

The artistic flair in this page is visceral just as much as is it beautiful.

I think Zukar might be my favourite character in this series, perhaps just behind Lord Stroopwaffle herself, of course.

Oh that’s fucking horrifying. Murdering an Arbiter also murders everyone currently clapped between their asscheeks.

Makes me think of people playing tag, nobody wants to be it but when they are they play the part with a sense of pure devious joy.
Wafflings just wanna bring people to see the pure bliss they feel and I’m here for it.

Yeah and you know, their bodies are fueled by dead people and corpses but heyyyy their trying to help
