Since this is a one-shot story, I didn't planned to continue this story. But think about it, when he got to know what she is his reaction reassured her that he was the same as all. From her point of view, he only cared about her that she was a fellow human.

That seems so very tragic, I do want her to realize she is mistaken, but that is seeming like hoping Romero and Juliet has a happy ending.

Maybe the sea beast will realize Abby is upset about the human and throw up a half digested lance and force him to be Abby thread.


Than again I seem most drawn to the fatal stories in many cases, so I am a bit of a hypocrite being in denial of them being fatal. Do like near fatal stories so maybe not a hypocrite after all.

Lance did save Abby so Abby does owe him.

Through if it is fatal, I do like graphic digestion, if one kills someone off, go all the way.

Wonder if lance has a diary that Abby may read some day.

It a bit weird that I fixated on this fic so much and cheer for the prey so much. I am normally like fatal but, you just build your characters and interactions so well.

It helps that I also like near fatal stories like furaffinty inconspicuousraptor and boreali write.

I checked on this fic again and it still good, still so tragic it gets to me like brazzel work. You are very good at emotion.

Part of masochistic me wonders what if for maximum tragedy, Abby figured out lance wanted to save a mermaid after he dies.

The thing is that he did not knew that she was a mermaid. So she thought that Lance only care about her if she is a human too. A two-leg that she despises all members of the species. Lance did not had time to explain himself since Crim interrupted him by eating the little two leg.

I also wonder if he ever spoke pro mermaid statement. It would be intresting to have Abby sneaking around the town and hear that a man known to speak aginst mermaid exploitation has disappeared and it turned out to be lance.

Lance didn't do anything to save any mermaid and most likely he never would. Were talking abut that he would be arrested.

It probably doesn’t help, that I rediscovered this story the day after two of my pets died. Through they had a long and good life and we know it was coming.

You wrote a good story.
