Well it's that time again, writing the School Month anthologies was fun, so I figured I'd do it again, but sticking to the same theme would get old fast, so I thought, 'what follows school?'
Vacation!

I hope you brought sunscreen.

LORE BYTE!
Welland Water Park:
The island of Welland, located just off the eastern coast of the southern reaches of The World Within’s central continent, has traditionally, owing to its proximity to Newauld City, been property of the Papal Church of the World Mother (the religious half of the Papal Orders government).
However, during the last great war, which ended in the mid 1950’s, debts accrued by both halves of the government necessitated certain properties be sold off, and so, Welland, being home to an ancient monastery and a holy place, was sold to an entrepreneur, who promptly began work on turning the place into a money printing machine.
Today the island is almost completely covered by a gigantic water park, the only parts that aren’t populated by fibreglass slides are the hotels, docks, entrance area and the monastery, which was left up as a sight of pilgrimage (after all, there’s a fee to set foot on the island now, so why cut out that pre-existing customer base).
Like Lamont Land, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in The World Within, and as the Papal Order is home to both of these sites, as well as numerous other sites of historical and religious importance, Welland has helped contribute towards The Papal Orders increasing focus on monetisation and wealth, moving the nation further from its religious roots, and further down the path of greed and corruption.
