You're still in the right timeframe, it's just the lack of early cable/internet that stopped you from joining this cohort. There was a lot less polish and a lot more experimentation with advertising, so even though I can't say it drove tons of products to purchase, the sheer wildness of the commercials solidified in our memories.

I’m disappointed that we didn’t see it swallowing her, or see where she is within the waffle. I’m guessing that you already know but someone made a humanoid waffle girl that eats jelly slime girls, that’s actually how I found out about the commercials. Last thing, it’s ironic that commercials advertising waffles to be eaten because they were filled with tasty jelly now have fanart of them eating human women, maybe in a sequel you should show the waffle being chased by a mob of people who want to eat it because of the tasty lady inside because well, attractive people being tasty is an intricate part of the vore fandom, but you should show the woman inside for context.
