Who was once the fat Fennekin is now an official character in the form of an adorable Nickit! Partnered with the Meowscarada Grimaldo, she helps him acquire precious items, her sense for gemstones very good especially. She can easily distinguish gems by their taste, and her habit of eating these hard stones has conditioned her stomach to produce very powerful acids. She can melt down a Steel type in less than an hour! She is very possessive of valuables, and oftentimes eats and digests them so that they're always jiggling on her belly; what she considers valuables also translates to Pokemon, especially those she is attracted to.

This actually makes sense to me. Because you do have four characters of the fennekin line already and a fifth one would have been a overused. Still, I like that nickit, Roxi, has more depths than being a playful predator and I can only guess how her relationship with Grimaldo and Pepper had gone before the separation.
