Dinky the goldfinch and Boomer the woodpecker chased Squeaks the caterpillar around for what seemed like forever. Squeaks had managed to evade becoming bird food for a long time, until today! Dinky goes it alone and manages to corner the tasty caterpillar, and doesn't let Squeaks escape. The goldfinch finally gets to enjoy a very satisfying buggy lunch!

One of my more favored scenarios in writing is taking an existing case of prey eluding a predator in canon, and providing the "bad ending" to such a pair. So here we have an instance from The Fox and the Hound, where the bird gets to eat up the worm!
