Predator #1: Giant Land Octopus By Draconatedz -- Report

This might seem like an unusual concept coming from me, but recently  theweirdone445 and I have been playing through Elden Ring using the seamless co-op mod, providing a much smoother playthrough than you would typically get playing any souls game. We decided to have a bit of fun role playing as Rin and Luvia in the land's between, and this led to a lot of random ideas along the way. I have a pretty large list of characters and monsters from the game I'd like to see devour and digest them, and I hope to get around to writing more in the future. I had actually never saw the Giant Land Octopus' devouring attack in any of my other playthroughs, so having it done to me as Luvia towards the end of the game really and killing me in one shot did a number on me, I had to immortalize it forever in the form a short story. Hope you enjoy!

Let me know what you think in the comments below. And if you have any Elden Ring ideas, also let me know, it would be cool to see if anyone else came up with the same scenarios as we did.

So I've certainly had quite a few ideas when it came to Elden Ring and what could happen to the Tarnished in their bouts of combat.

My personal favorite idea would be getting fused into one of the grafted scions, slowly losing all will and thought of your own till youve become another part of the scion in fused body and mind.

Another would be the reborned children in the Rennala fight. Maybe the Tarnished had failed in the first phase and one of the reborned grabbed ahold of them, devouring and absorbing them and their runes to unite them in the twin like choir to Rennala.

Yo that Scion idea is hot

The grafted scion idea is very neat and not one I had considered, they're very rough enemies so that might be a good one to consider, thanks!

I had this exact same Rennala rebirthing idea, Rin and Luvia stuck in a loop of rebirth as her children would be pretty cute.

I'm back with more ideas I've been playing Elden Ring lel

Now as for NPCs/Characters it's pretty obvious on which girls I would suggest to eat these two in various ways :p
- Ranni with her spirit side eating one of them along with the doll
- Sellen and her other body
- Roderika with turning them into spirits
- Fia with the pair sleeping with her to long to end up getting sleep eaten
- Nepheli by losing to her in a duel
- Hyetta with one tricking another to getting eaten.. mmm.. grapes..
- Tanith and Rya because snake girls (Could just do Rya snacking on the pair because she got really hungry)
- Malenia and Millicent
- Anastasia, Tarnished-Eater.. yea, it's pretty obvious lol

But for like basic enemies? You have a huge selection from the mother of dragons ungirthing them and remaking them into dragons or dragon girls, the Nox Swordstresses, Mimic Tears, and possibly even the Black Knife assassins ambushing them at a grace.

There are some very good idea here. Some of these I thought of myself, while others I hadn't considered. Ranni in particular I had already thought of(obviously), but one being food for the doll body while the other is melted into soul nourishment is a very interesting take. The obvious setup is them allying with Seluvis(which I wouldn't put past them actually trying in canon lol), and punishing them accordingly. It could also be something like sucking their souls out, and then inhabiting their bodies as new hosts. That seems like something Ranni is entirely capable of, and would provide an interesting distinction to her predation.

Tempted to say have Torrent turn on you for letting him die repeatedly, but it might be a little early on in the adventure to go horseless yet lol.

As for standard preds Slimes, Kindred of rot and the Basilisks stick out as the most likely to eat an unwary tarnished.
If you wanted some non-standard ones though, you could do something interesting with the Wormfaces and Cemetary shades as well.

As far as I'm concerned, Torrent is just as much prey as Rin and Luvia are, damn thing is responsible for so many needless deaths from weird variable fall damage and instant posture breaks getting me killed across so many playthroughs. Also he's just kind of a runt donkey rather than an impressive large steed. I wish we could get a late game upgrade somehow.

Wormface was one I had considered, though cemetery shades are easily dealt with thanks to having heal always handy. it's funny, because those used to be the most frustrating enemies in the game before I found out about the heal trick, now they're free easy kills every time.

Tight belly forcing a tight embrace as the occupants get churned? Hell yeah.
If they’re souls were used to make two new octopi, do they retain their old consciousnesses or are they essentially new beings? I can imagine how great it would be if they ended up eating up their former comrades, unaware that their preds were formerly people they knew

I would imagine the latter, the description for octopus ovaries in the game implies all octopi are formed from devoured humans.

Milia wars does something similar, where it takes two girls to make a bee from a grub.

Interesting. I’ve never seen that before

Check it here (It's way hotter than the incompetent description makes it sound) :

Oh very hot indeed. I can just imagine the meshing of souls as they form the new being.

While I don't have any Elden Ring suggestions to make (don't really know anything about the game, nor have I played it), I will say that this was definitely a good story. It seems that creature pred content is unfortunately too rare, so it's always nice to see it be written so well.
Plus, haughty and confident sorceresses getting eaten by underestimated creatures is another thing I love to see.
