“The mysteries of Sector VX8 continue to terrify and fascinate me. Once more, a female member of the expedition has morphed into a voracious monster. This newest transformation, dubbed Subject L2, was caused when she held a gold ring we discovered partially buried in the ground.
The subject’s arms vanished, replaced by two levitating hands surrounded in gold rings. Those rings turned out to be portals, as was proven when the creature dragged yet another unfortunate colleague to their demise. Anything that passes through the portals is teleported directly into Subject L2’s stomach.
Subjects L1 and L2 seem to be related. Both of their new forms have similar colorations, and they have not shown any signs of hostility to one another. Subject D1, on the other hand, flew into a violent rage when they saw them. L1 and L2 joined forces and nearly killed D1, but the conflict was averted by our security guards.
In order to continue researching the specimens in safer conditions, we have moved D1 into a separate holding cell from L1 and L2. The process of doing so resulted in five more crew members being swallowed. Despite the wildly different abilities of the three subjects, they all share a voracious appetite for live humans.”
