Vexorpuls are feared across the realms for their menacing appearance and brutal feeding habits. With jet black scales and glowing green eyes, they can walk upright but usually prefer standing on all fours. The skin on their abdomen is transparent green, allowing a clear view of the inside of its stomach. Vexorpuls are highly xenophobic, but get along very well with others of their kind, affectionately nuzzling each other and raising their young as a family.
Female Vexorpul can unhinge their jaws to swallow prey up to five times their size in a single gulp. The stomach can stretch to easily accommodate their prey, though digestion can take over a week. Males are much smaller and lack this ability entirely, instead being able to spit venom for defense. Females have venom as well, but produce it in quantities too small to use this way.
